Re: The Magic Number Thread

Snowflake Royal Same difference.

When the outcome is certain, there's no reason to wait to see which club it is that drops the points.

But that's not how the magic number works - it's very Schroedinger's Cat.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a)

Maybe we could get a game retrospectively abandoned after a post-game pitch invasion?

Re: The Magic Number Thread

Only Cheltenham (50 max) can catch us but only if we lose both our final games (one of which is Burton) but we have a superior GD (BA away, Imps at home, Peterborough at home, Stevenage away) Port Vale can only get 49 max ( WW at home, BW away, Cam at home ) Fleetwood can only get 46 max Carlisle :...

Re: Confimred - Joel Pereira

Clyde1998 Two questions which will no doubt be answered in due course:
  1. Is there a serious chance of Pereira becoming the first choice keeper or will he be our back up?
  2. What does this mean for CBC; is he likely to go on loan somewhere?

I guess there was a serious chance :-)

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

What doesn't encourage you about them - of the 2 money men, one at least is a billionaire and both seem to have a track record of investing smartly. Any owner coming in will have to earn trust after the last few years but I'm not sure what else you could actually want? This. After the disaster that...

Pepe the Horseman Either way, seems quite promising.

If they are supposed to be our main owners, I'd not be that encouraged ... hopefully they are acting on someone else's behalf.

Re: If a buyer isn’t going to happen, would you rather?

If the limp on happens, it could take decades. What if we're a club who don't own the stadium or training ground and can't afford our academy? Brighton are a feelgood story now, but they were in the doldrums for about 20 years. Look at Oxford ... not owning their stadium has been a terrible situati...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

There are plans for each bus to do two runs so your options will be get there far too early or hang around after the game, the club will also lose the revenue from the matchday parking. Put on decent street food and bars outside the ground and spending an extra hour at the stadium after a game woul...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Was talking to a friend who is involved in board of a national league team - and he told me what virtually all teams in the league are loss making and need a financial injection of around £1million each year. I found that staggering .. Don't want to be rude, but are you new here? Football's financi...

Not sure Chris Wilder would have been the messiah after all - doing a pretty crap job at Sheffield, albeit with very limited resources. But their squad is probably better than Luton's, so there's really no excuses. Burnley at least look good while losing. Sheffield just look terrible.

Watched Oxford City vs Aldershot today - Tetek played all game, Josh Barrett came on for last 5 minutes. Tetek was pretty quiet all game - did not look like someone playing below his level ... JB just looked fat.

Re: liam moore to return till end of the season

Liam Moore isn't welcome at the club. He is scum and partly responsible for why we are where we are. whereas you, of course, would turn down a massive pay rise offered by your employer If it was to pay me vastly more than my colleagues who were just as good or better than me, yes I would tur...

Re: How early have you taken your children to a game and it be ok?

I think my son was five (20 years ago) when I first took him to the MadStad. Neither of us remember anything about it! He was a few weeks shy of his 6th birthday when I took him to the first game of the following season at home to Brighton. We sat in the North Stand in the full glare of a baking ho...

Just watched the highlights on Sky and literally all their chances seem to come from long kicks from their goal keeper or corners ... I guess that's their tactic. Lucky it didn't work for once!

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

paultheroyal Dellor got a few articles coming out on Friday. However, he was clearly alluding to the fact that the dark days are over and takeover is moving with pace with a full sale complete early April.

I won't believe it until Brogue says so.

It is funny how we have one of the leakiest defences in League 1 and a potent attack - and we're selling our defenders. I'd be more worried if Azeez, Smith or Wing were to leave.
