Re: Stadium screens

The fans being that close to the pitch would actually be annoying, as you can't see all of the pitch unless you are right at the front, or in an upper tier. It would be like the old days of the away end at Bournemouth, where you couldn't see most of the near goal*, and it's probably worse at corner...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (h) sponsored by Steve Stone

So the FA (effing aholes) have now charged us for failing to control our players.

When are they going to start charging match officials for failing to control games?

Seems bizarre to have such great stadia to host such rubbish sports....

Mercedes Benz Stadium hosts Atlanta Utd and their fans are already (only half jokingly) talking about displacing The Falcons who play with an egg shaped ball.

Re: CONFIMRED José Gomes

I'm not knocking Gomes btw. I've liked what I've heard from him same as I liked what Clement had to say. Just don't think that beside a bit more of a romantic turn of phrase there is much difference in Gomes's post match (particularly after the Swansea game) to Clement. It's just that certain fans,...

Re: BFTG Forest Home

Truth is that he only had to produce the scramble save because of his initial mistake that led to that situation - hesitated then came out for a ball that he really shouldn't have done - he might have got there first had he not hesitated. Still gives me the willies every time the ball is passed bac...

Re: CONFIMRED José Gomes

I particularly like how he has the same honesty that Clement had in his interviews yet he says it all in a sexy Portuguese accent and plays passing football so the new age stat obsessed football manager generation of our fan base lap it up. Far more positive in his speech and approach than Clement....

Re: BFTG Forest Home

Qualified ref, so know a bit more than most.... he will have to answer why he gave a foul or no foul for every decision. Any KMI’s he missed mean he can’t score over average, too many marks below average and he will be moved to lesser games. His management of the Murphy challenge meant he had to bo...

Re: BFTG Forest Home

Best performance of the season. Best atmosphere of the season. Best referee of the season. Best result of the season....but we have to be more clinical. Jaakkola. 7. Good handling and did well with the scramble save at the end . Truth is that he only had to produce the scramble save because of his ...

Re: Clear out started

Just on these ins and outs I wonder how much impact Gomes has had on the decision making. Has he seen much of our two loan signings? Can he possibly tell from just a few training sessions whether people like Meyler, McNulty, Mannone etc are any good? He is surely being advised by somebody and that ...

My thoughts the moment I read the name. I would be shocked if we willingly signed yet another keeper who isn't comfortable with the ball at his feet.

Re: Clear out started

Yes he did - he signed gems such as Gravenberch and Rakels in the Jan window he was here and there were probably others I've forgotten. Gravenberch was signed about three days before he was sacked in the summer, and was pretty clearly a Tevreden signing. I think it's fair to say that a couple of si...

Re: Clear out started

Yep, in retrospect the last summer window was appalling. The one before that not much better, though arguably Barrow and Bacuna were decent enough signings at the price Of our 17 signings since the play-off final, I'd count only 4 as a success. Bodvarsson, Barrow, Bacuna and Yiadom. I'd say our rec...

Re: BFTG United (A)

Anyway, we're entering circular territory now and I've said all there is I can. If you still think the decision was wrong that's your loss. Personally I would take Keith Hackett’s opinion over yours, he’s a little more qualified. He says you are wrong. However it is all irrelevant and the result is...

Re: BFTG United (A)

BBC have been running with that line across their website, 5 Live and MOTD. So very different to BT’s view of the match, as well as most other media outlets. Reading played well. Much better than expected or that our league position would suggest, but it was a straight forward win. Completely agree...

Re: BFTG United (A)

What matters is which offence is committed first. As far as I can tell, the foul was committed before Fred touched the ball, so it is a penalty. A "pass" cannot be offside, only a player. It's not an offence to pass to someone in an offside position, it's an offence to interfere with play...

Re: BFTG United (A)

So Bod then. Don't think Gomes likes the idea of a tall striker Well I’d play Meite and Bod up front, tell them to smash up the defenders, really get fcuking stuck in and bust some heads, bang crosses in. Cause mayhem. Why not? All this clever, clever pissing about with the ball is getting us nowhe...

Re: BFTG United (A)

TBH pretty sick to death of people say united didn`t need to get out of 2nd gear. looked to me like they were trying all over the pitch. what actually defines 2nd gear? Reading play well and posters try to downgrade the performance, we play badly and we get hammered. not entirely sure what we need ...

Re: BFTG United (A)

Ilori 4 - Moore was almost a one man CB at times, he was clearly injured, constantly walking back when United were on the attack, and pathetic defending for the second goal. Get Rid As you say, he was clearly injured. Hardly his fault that the management team decided not to substitute him till half...
