Re: BFTG - Blackburn

First half shambles down to Gomes. Poor team set-up. Cannot afford more slip-ups. Should have been dead and buried. Nope. Rino was injured and we don't have any other tenacious tough tackling midfielders to play there. His only choice was to play more balanced wide men who would track back and help...

Re: BFTG Wednesday (A)

Plenty of people were happy with Clement's window in the summer at the time. On paper filled the holes. In reality didn't work out. As many transfers dont. Still no experienced permanent backbone to the team. Long road ahead yet potentially. These loan recruits are putting themselves in the shop wi...

Fatigue perhaps. A year on. No further forward.

Bristol City 8 wins on the spin. Last time we managed even back to back wins? Some of the players must be low on confidence. Been a long deep rut.

With a full fit squad. No. Gomes has had the bonus of a transfer window to improve it on a temporary basis. Concern must be that we're still just hanging in the mix. Guess that's the current objective. Just need to win the 6 pointers.

Re: 8 home games left.

Might have kept a clean sheet on Saturday. But Villa for long periods we're more likely to score. Maybe because they are a better team? Think you'd find they'd be widely considered as such. They are 2nd or 3rd highest scorers in the league. Don't know about you, but I figured we may have to ride ou...

Re: 8 home games left.

May do better away from home. Counter attacking may suit the team better. Far too slow in the build up at the moment. Which allows opposition defences to regroup.

Might have kept a clean sheet on Saturday. But Villa for long periods we're more likely to score.

Re: BFTG Villa

5 - We will stay up and we will be a force next year because we have a manager with skill and vision; a coaching team who have the belief and skill to implement his ideas and owners who will back him and a CEO who is superb. Far too early to tell. The Championship is full of equally good management...

largely caused by Clement's dreadful summer signings. Don't expect Reading to splash the cash this summer. Strip out the 5 loanees that played Saturday and we've little left. The project is a long term one. Long way off getting back to being a top 6 contender. Financial Fair Play is going to tie Re...

Re: Gomes: Early Form Check In

As the games tick by. Be interesting to see how the players cope with the pressure. At the momemt at least, there's plenty of games to go. When it gets to the point of having to win. Have the young trainees the mentality that's required.

Opposition set-up differently. Aston Villa pressed high virtually all game. Whereas QPR were happy to defend deep. Allowing Reading to play in front of them. Same as Man Utd. Gomes is effectively having a preseason in season.

Re: BFTG Villa

Richards : Why ? A total experiment in our dire circumstances. Surely it had to be Macca or Barrow ? Defensively better option. Stop Hutton's runs. No bad offensively either. Gomes might see him potentially as a winger in the longer term.......... Not least gives him some game time. Both Macca or B...

Reading had to offload to adjust to meet FFP. Excess of midfielders. Sure Bacuna wasn't Gomes choice of player to go. But as someone wanted him the money talked.

Indecision. Could have commanded his box better. Also played the ball long. Rather than tippy tappy around the box.
