Re: How hard is running a football club?

Say that one of us won £100m on Euromillions, the Couhig deals falls through and it's a case of us buying the club or it going bankrupt. Even out of administration you have to spend something like £30m to buy the club, stadium and training ground. You're then presented with the current running cost...

Re: CONFRIMED: Takeover collapsed; Back to square one

What if Dai has somehow found a new funding source and is legitimately committed to covering our costs now? I guess the evidence of that works be if he complied with the EFL demands and paid his fine. I think that's entirely unlikely. Nothing has indicated he has any serious interests or reliabilit...

Re: UnConfimred new owners of Raeding Footbal Club

Mid Sussex Royal Jamie Hodder reckons the club is now owned by Chinese banks as Dai is under house arrest there

Would be no great surprise. Given the well documented events in China.

Re: UnConfimred new owners of Raeding Footbal Club

I can only think there is something significant we don't know. Administration and Dai gets nothing. So why would he allow that to happened when there's good money on the table? The stadium as an asset sits outside the football club. Sale of Bearwood would return something to Dai after settling othe...

Re: UnConfimred new owners of Raeding Footbal Club

He can't kill the club - it would just go into administration and other groups now have control over who it would be sold on to. All he can do is force us to have a points deduction and get a lot less money. I can live with administration if it finally gets Dai out of the club, BUT any admin deal w...

Re: UnConfimred new owners of Raeding Footbal Club

"Face" is important in China - Dai still owning the club allows him to natter with his mates at the golf club "Yeah we have a good manager and young team and things are looking good". "Got some Yank who wants to buy it but I will string him along for as much as I can get&qu...

Re: UnConfimred new owners of Raeding Footbal Club

Last Tuesday I bumped into a very senior source at the club, I introduced myself as a season ticket holder of over thirty five years and asked if it would be ok to ask a simple question. I'm surprised that there's anybody with any authority left at the club. All seem to be getting bans for bad beha...

Re: How hard is running a football club?

The amounts of money involved these days has fundamentally changed the sport. I know a lot of people that have turned their backs on the higher leagues. Returned to grass roots where clubs are an integral part of the community 24/7. Not just 23 match days a year. Far cheaper to watch as well.

Re: TAKEOVER CONFIRMED TO HAVE NOT YET HAPPENED BUT MIGHT SOON

He's getting a very poor return on his investment and dragging his feet doesn't hurt him per se, but sure irritates those who he may feel insulted him. One reasonable assumption that can be drawn from events unnconnected to the football club. Is that the bulk of the money spent wasn't even his own ...

Re: TAKEOVER CONFIRMED TO HAVE NOT YET HAPPENED BUT MIGHT SOON

So, my understanding is that we've gone backwards in the last couple of weeks. Couhig not happy with the original amount after uncovering more financial mess and wants a lower sale figure. He's still very much acting as the new owner in waiting though and is (so i've been told) making the key decis...

Re: TAKEOVER MIGHT OR MIGHT NOT BE CONFIMRED THIS WEEK OR NEXT

I can't be arsed with this shit. Regardless it's quite obvious one of the key investors did not fail the directors test at Hull because Dai could have just bought the club on his own. So I don't buy this argument. It's clear he was the issue that caused the deal to collapse. Why would Dai use a big...

Re: TAKEOVER ALL BUT CONFIMRED

I thought someone told me on Saturday that both parties had agreed the sale but Couhig wernt happy about the amount of money the EFL wanted for some sort of "bond" that had to be paid. Though that could be b*ll*ocks, but then again the ball is in the EFLs court for sign off isn't it? New ...

Re: Rumour: Azeez to Millwall

1 Million is good business and exactly how we need to operate in the future to be able to sustain ourselves as a club and to help fund the Academy. The crazy thing about the transfer is the timing especially regarding the takeover of the club and who has sanctioned the move? Is it the old regime or...

Re: TAKEOVER ALL BUT CONFIMRED

That would be very expensive for Dai. He might be an utter spaz, but he isn't going to throw money away like that. There were murmurings last week the hold up may be stadium related. Certainly more plausible than the Hotel, which neither Dai or RFC own, so shouldn't come into the equation at all. I...

Re: TAKEOVER CONFIMRED AT LAST!...............(Only joking)

"Earn out" clauses that allow the seller to get their share in the profits for several years afterwards are common in M&A, basically a way of knocking down the day 1 price and making the seller put the money where their mouth is that this business they're selling is as great as they s...

Re: TAKEOVER CONFIMRED AT LAST!...............(Only joking)

I read something on Twitter last week that sounded stupid but given the above posts could be plausible.... Dai is attempting to negotiate a dividend on any academy sales for the next 2 years, given his investment in it... "Earn out" clauses that allow the seller to get their share in the ...

Re: TAKEOVER *STILL NOT F***ING* CONFIMRED

Not changed for Reading yet but just for the record here is a List of the current owners, and associated wealth, of the 92 PL and FL clubs Doesn't appear to be up todate. blueroyals Further evidence that Couhig is very much leading this now and Chiron, it seems, will be more like passive background investors?

Much in the same way that Todd Boehly is the public face of Chelsea. While the real power lies elsewhere.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT YET* CONFIMRED

As mentioned we’ve had no chance of any signings but the likes of Wing, Knibbs and Smith don’t seem to be agitating for a move either Still a month to the window closes. At what point does a player decide for their own personal reasons to jump ship. No doubt there's approaches to the players agents...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT YET* CONFIMRED

Crusader Royal Haven’t we just had a tax deadline and wage payments that no one even worried about meeting ? Suggests significant ongoing financial backing.

Season ticket sale, sponsorship money etc is in the bank. Healthy balance at the beginning of the season.
