All that counts is the final table when all the matches have been played.

Re: Back from listening to the game v preston on the radio

Interesting. Just a shite February really. No chance the January loan signings are damaging the squad in any way? All the chopping and changing due to injuries cannot be helping. Not easy to come straight into a team and play well either. Rather than playing their normal game the loanees are having...

Stam can only work with the players at his disposal. Those that aren't up to the job will be replaced. I find his interviews refreshingly honest.

Re: Back from listening to the game v preston on the radio

But, one of the things that came out of last season was that the team lacked identity, and that went a long way to explaining our struggles and the poor atmosphere around the club and squad, I think. Brian certainly mentioned it. For better for worse, Stam has given the team an identity and whateve...

Re: Season ticket renewals 17/18

Swindon ( who may well be heading for league 2). Are quoting £375 for renewals before 31st March. New season tickets after 1st May are priced at £450!.

Puts Readings pricing policy into perspective. Better to fill empty seats than play at home in a stadium devoid of atmosphere.

Re: BFTG Wolves

The rest of the sides we've played are average. Which suggests that Stam's project is on the right path. The style is taking shape before our very eyes. The players are still learning. With every game chalking up experience. If you listen to Stam's post match interviews. The players themselves need...

Re: BFTG Wolves

Playing the way we do. The players we currently have provide little to no cover for the fullbacks. That's why both Gunter and Blackett regularly get exposed. While it's great to play with "wingers". Sometimes it makes our midfield 3 look very light with no bite.

Re: Stams philosophy

I think Stam is probably in need of a wealthy club to use his formula. Stam's formula will work better with home grown talent. Rather than bought in stars. Go and watch the U23's. You'll see a mirror image formation of the first team. Stam has always said that he views the job as a long term projec...

Re: Why are we so quiet?

This could be the early stages of a long-term decline in attendances and interest in football generally. Championship football is in the ascendency not in decline. Average Premiership season ticket holder is 45. Which is a far more telling statistic. Sheff Utd had over 27,000 for the game against B...

Re: BFTS - Brighton (A)

We're missing Rakels I honestly believe Meite could be the answer to our goalscoring problems, whenever he comes on he looks strong and fast, Another player with huge potential. Obviously not ready for the demands of week in week out delivering consistant performances. With off field antics lacks t...

Re: BFTS - Brighton (A)

Truth is, we gifted Brighton their goals through our mistakes. Can be said for many goals we've conceded this season. One begins to question whether the formation (4-3-3) is working with the players currently in the squad. Far too often we have 5 players jogging/walking back after losing possession...

Re: Jaap Stam to Leicester?

Yes but he had a whole pre-season to get us playing the way he wanted to. He wouldn't have that time if he jumped ship now. As another post above states, could you imagine him walking in and getting Huth and Morgan to pass out from the back. More importantly, he had a whole pre season and a transfe...

Re: BFTS - Brighton (A)

Come a long way since last season under the new management team. No threat of relegation. Stick with the style Jaap. As teams such as BHA aren't going to pose much of a threat in the Premiership.

Re: Attendances

Reduce the admission prices. Return football to the working man. Clubs are losing money due to the obscene levels of wages that have to be paid simply to retain players. Appears owners are only interested in the premiership for the money , not with any aim to win anything. Just survival. Destroying ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Brentford (h) sponsored by M4 derbies

Grabban in midfield with Swift on the bench. Gunter at centre back with Oxford on the bench. McCleary / Williams / Beerens at RWB with Watson available. Swift is being game managed to last the season. Certainly appears to struggle to maintain a full effective 90 minutes. Without Oxford on the bench...

With a £100 million at stake a prize worth having. As would keep RFC solvent for a considerable number of years.
