Re: Bye Bye Ron Gourlay

Club desperately needs stability. Absent owners aren't helping either. Let's hope for a decent appointment. Club needs a face to reconnect with the fan base.

Re: Clement

Maybe McDermott was ahead of the game here then, Like British Athletics, they now search out potential athletes at schools/uni's and see what attributes they have and then match them up to any sports they should be good at...... Long presumably had the right attributes and just needed coaching/educ...

Re: Clement

Just watched Swindon lose at home to Carlisle 4-0. A classic example of a new manager not doing any better with the same group of players. Change for change sake doesn't always work. Despite a different formation. Same old mistakes at the back and a lack of firepower up front. Managers need to be gi...

Walcott being an example of someone plucked from obscurity at a late age.

The dying dregs of a quality striker plus a knack of winning penalties (and scoring off the rebounds). We also rode our luck on occasions.

Re: Clement

Well Long "couldn't kick a ball" and "would never be a footballer" when he arrived, and for about four seasons (according to HNA) So either he was secretly swapped overnight or someone taught him how to play. Not sure, but in terms of total transfer fees, he may be our biggest W...

Neither semi final or the final suggested that the team had any calibre. Remind me how many chances we created and goals were scored in 270 minutes of football.

Re: New league?

Seems as TV coverage is finally killing the game. Diminishing attendances = no atmosphere = no matchday revenue. In essence Sky is getting the midweek coverage for very little . Travel to Leeds on a Tuesday night and pay over £30 a ticket. Nail is going in the coffin. When you watch for free.

Re: The very latest in Clement In/Out Polls

He is in a similar position to Phil Brown at Swindon who had part of last season and has now been sacked with them in the lower reaches of their division. Noel Hunt appointed as assistant manager today. Power is the problem at Swindon I suspect. Like Reading there's been a succession of managers ov...

Re: The very latest in Clement In/Out Polls

This is extremely interesting. You think Clement is in tune with the club like McDermott was? Brian was an internal promotion. Different era now. One dynasty has ended and another just started. Remember the crap football under Pardew at the beginning. Eventually left us for bigger and better things.

Re: Clement

O'Shea was daft For the players coming through. Such as Rinomhota. Worth every penny. We need role models in the squad. Players that have achieved in their careers. Not ones content to milk big wages for simply turning up. O'Shea won't hold back behind closed doors. This the same guy who's on for b...

Re: The very latest in Clement In/Out Polls

Definately in. Transfer windows don't create teams. Steve Clarke being a classic example of how to leave a club in a worse state that when you started. To achieve anything in the longer term the club needs to think longer term. Nor you blame Clement for the lack of availbility due to injuries. We ar...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

4-3-3 IMO. But for the entire second half today, when McCleary came on for Rinomhota he played as a striker. And is a striker. No way was McCleary playing as a striker. Apart from the last few minutes he was hugging the touchline, and often sitting deep enough people around me were shouting at him ...

Desperately hoping Clement gets his P45 if we lose this. This is disgusting against a sh+t Ipswich team. Neither of their goals anything to do with Clement - really poor give a dog a bad naming . Apart from the fact that he is the manager/coach who is meant to be improving performances and stopping...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

Clement hanging on by the skin of his teeth I reckon. I like his honesty. Unlike Stam is totally upfront about the team's performance. Calling the first half performance embarrassing live on radio was spot on. Sending a clear message to some of the players. Nothing is changing though. He may be hon...
