Re: Slough away or fulham at that place in hampshire

I do like the look of Pelle Clement. Played left mid when he came on, couple of great turns and a good driving run which he couldn’t finish. Definite potent there. Good to see him improving. For a long time I just couldn't see what he offered. He didn't seem creative, nor able to defend. He didn't ...

Re: Season 2018/2019

I really fear for us this season. I feel uninspired by the signings so far and I'm not really a fan of Clement. I think the poor performances will continue as will the dull football.I hope I'm wrong. Given the dire perfprmances in the latter half of last season. The new additions all add character ...

For the first 60 minutes both teams could have been starting 11's.

Re: Slough away or fulham at that place in hampshire

Against opposition that moved the ball crisply (for the first 60). The team was well organised and disciplined. If I was a Fulhan fan I would be concerned as to where the cutting edge is. Squad has been drilled well for corners. Everybody knew their position in a zonal system. Meite needs support up...

Re: Slough away or fulham at that place in hampshire

Off to the Rec. Interested to see how the starting 11 line up and what tactics are employed. More interesting than a rather pointless play off fixture. In which Southgate might as well let the reserves have a run out again.

Does Clement see something in Meite? Even just as better backup. Expect this years team to have more legs in terms of front men being asked to drop back and defend.

Clement monitoring the players currently? Behind closed doors in Austria the bad news will be broken. As to who is first choice.

Re: Its all gone quiet

Not sure Yiadom acquisition was strictly necessary. However his versatility, should prove useful. Meyler: Right position; as one of the new midfielders, but maybe slightly outside the right age bracket. O Shea: Makes no sense at all. Give a Clement a chance. We were dire at times last year. A major...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Eastleigh (a) sponsored by football is back

In essence a 45 minute run out for those available. Gives Clement a chance to allow everybody an opportunity to claim a spot. Next game will see another permutation of a team. Likely some on show today won't make the final cut.

Re: CONFIMRED - Dave Edwards

Just seen an interview with Edwards at the training ground on the teams first day of pre season training, Was kinda hoping the club would just get all the players to hide and switch all the lights off in the hope he'd go away. Edwards wasn't the only player to underperform last season. Clean slate ...

O'Shea came here to work with Clement for the longer term. Not just a season.

Once there's been the in's and out's. Be clearer to see who has strengthened. Early closure of the transfer window is a welcome change. At least no last minute loss of players.

Elphick is already an outcast. I reckon the man himself wants out.

Impressive that a 36 year old made 40 appearances last season. Better than many of our players. No suspensions or red cards either.

You don't make someone Captain of the Republic of Ireland Team without having certain qualities.

Last year far too often. We looked totally bereft of fight.

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

I am not fond of the O'Shea signing, I have never really rated him but I can understand why he has signed him. He may not even play much, but if he see's him as a leader in the group then that has to be good on and off the pitch because the tone is set on the training pitch. If that's right it gets...

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

So, we have signed 3 solid proven pro's, 2 of them captain's. All 3 are/have been. Elphick would make 4 if he signs. Looks more and more like a Coppell squad. Though now there's a good crop of youngsters to nuture. The off the field influence is equally important. Clement does seem to be going to b...

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

I would rather we still had Jake Cooper and would play him ahead of O’Shea every day of the week. Stam let Cooper go. We are where we are. Another free transfer. More leadership within the club. Clement has clearly identified real issues within the squad. Something that cannot be rectified within o...
