Re: FA Cup 3rd Round

Thanks AS bit meh about the draw last night. would have just like a big team at home. Yea pretty much this for me too. Big team at home meaning a chance it may be on TV so may be able to see it if I didn't go. Even 1 or 2 big teams away may have been appealing. Wouldn't be able to get a ticket to St...

Re: FA Cup 3rd Round

ex-Royal Kevin (bloody) Watson coaches there ....was still registered as a player recently.....dunno if he still is?.... deliberate edit.......expect to hear him pop-up on BBC Berks a few times prior to the game Shorey still coaches there. Was going to say it will probably be a lower league team aw...

Re: In or Out?

I wonder if Gilkes has had an impact. A period of time getting to know Stam along with the rest of the coaching staff and the players and is now having more influence?

Re: Relegation

Has a team ever gone down who were 10 points clear in December? Didn't Millwall get relegated one year, after being top at Christmas? Yeah, Mick McCarthy got the Ireland job and they absolutely plummeted afterwards. I remember them being top earlier in the season but not that they were still there ...

Re: Stams Tactics

I thought it was interesting to read yesterday Bod say that they had a talk after the game Sat and they agreed they need to stop overthinking things that they're doing. On the evidence of last night's result it obviously worked!

Re: Injury watch 2017-18 season

Odd if the plan was for Watson was to play 30 mins and McIntyre 60 mins they didn't switch them round with Watson coming off the bench instead.

Watson only playing half an hour does suggest even more that he's come back slightly ahead of schedule.

Re: Relegation

If we lose the next 2, will anyone start getting worried? I think we're in the middle of 4 important games starting with the Bolton game. If we lose any of them (without getting a win along the way)then I think we're going to be in trouble. Though unless we're 10 points clear of the bottom 3 then i...

Re: Injury watch 2017-18 season

Tennai Watson starting for U23s today, Gunter strikes me has a better LB, when Watson is fit slot him in at RB and free up Bacuna for his CM role. I was pleasantly surprised he started today, didn't think he was expected back until December. But he only lasted half an hour so presume is now injured...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

He got 2 day so far. is he a goalscoring midfielder or converted to a striker?, either way hes doing the business this season. The commentator in the Gillingham game said he was playing as a striker, and having seen the lineups for the games since I presume that's remained the case. If not then I h...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a) sponsored by 12 Parkinsons

Interesting one, had a bad feeling about this game, especially after seeing the starting line-up, and with less than 20 mins to go started to stop following/focusing on the game and do something else. We score twice and I then decide to listen to Tim and Mick on Freeview in injury-time when we almos...

Re: Relegation

Beginning to think its highly possible. only two clean sheets all season. just cant defend. Reading relegated in 1988 1998 2008 ...... Don't know why the shock, there was a thread talking about it before it before this one was started! Is exactly why I've been hoping for the last couple of ...

Re: Parking

Bumped into a mate who said you can park in TWTUD car park but I think I saw a sign saying No Matchday Parking so i'm not really sure... It looked busy about 1pm and people were going in and then coming out because the queue was so long. As for Green Park, a lot of cars were coming out of Reading Ga...

Re: Reading v Wolves Prediction Thread

Not really that sure but i'll go 1-1 (HT 0-0). I'm going so have to go for us to get something!

I'll add that to get a result I think we have to keep a clean sheet in the first half.

Re: Best goal scored at the Mad Stad

Graham Murty - penalty vs QPR. The memories linger still. I was there - in the away end...I've never wanted to celebrate a goal more...but still just grateful I was there. Nice to see so many goals mentioned that I've seen live, either in TV games or at the game (though the Cureton goal v Brighton ...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Are the Chinese subsidising the ladies? They are all professional now.with playing at Adams park plus overnight stays for away games etc it’s quite an expensive venture without getting that much in return. Wouldn't it have been the Thais initially? I'm assuming being in Super League 1 for 3 years n...

Re: Parking

Enlighten me then. Where? Holiday Inn was always the best option and now that's all ballsed up. Looks as though the only alternative is this pub others have mentioned. How many can they take? It's not the biggest from memory. Not sure if anyone arrived after 2 it would be particularly easy to get a...

Re: Parking

Cheers for all the info Elm Park Kid. Yeah, can imagine away fans going, may have heard some in there before. Would hope I wouldn't get there that late, tend to arrive early (apart from when there's been bad traffic - doesn't take much), but something to bear in mind anyway. I remember it was starti...

Re: Parking

Thanks for all the comments flagging up the Holiday Inn car park. I haven't been to a game since the old HP car park closed but having often thought about parking at the Holiday Inn that was my plan A. As it happens I've stumbled upon a different plan for Saturday but I'll have to think of a Plan B ...

Re: Injury watch 2017-18 season

It's a blow but Jaakola is decent. I'm thinking the management need to take a look at the physio department because this many injuries in a short space of time can't be coincidental. Are they training too hard or something? It reminds me of that injury crisis we had in Adkins last season. I remembe...
