Re: New Manager

The unknown Portuguese bloke is now 4/7 with Sky Bet I think those who are excited about this appointment if it happens are a tiny number and desperate . Of course he may be the messiah but I for one have no good feeling about this what so ever, not that my opinion is worth a flying toss. Our club ...

....and here's the round-up of yesterdays' NL games Saturday 8th December - In the division below the crowd at the N.Kent derby (Whitstable v Herne Bay) also got into the mid 300s. I was wondering if the injury was worse than first thought given that it was mentioned that we've recalled Osho from his loan spell.

Re: New Manager

This is a weird take on things from JLow. Maybe makes some sense https://www.football.london/reading-fc/reading-fc-news-luis-castro-15521865 That's actually been written by Charles Watts so there may be more truth in this than I first thought  What alarmed me from that is that his English is...

I am delighted that we didn't get to know him too. I think he would have been a disaster.

Know a West Ham fan and he said that when he was at West Ham whilst Zola was there all his signings were brutal so we may have got away with it here.

Re: Clement sacked!

Not pleased with this, and not convinced a new manager will actually make much difference for the rest of the season apart from maybe an immediate boost. When we sacked Adkins I wanted us to appoint Chris Hughton, a great manager at this level, but even he didn't make much difference in his first ha...

Re: The Non - League thread

For what I think is the 7th successive gamein the FA Vase Windsor have been drawn away. Uckfield or Sutton Common Rovers (or whatever they are calling themselves this season). Had a chat with Windsor’s manager yesterday at the U18s game and he was not very impressed with Erith Town. The normally mi...

Re: Ex Players

I assumed the player he was talking about was Lita, as I seem to remember he fell out of favour with Coppell, and having double-checked he went out on loan the season we got relegated from the PL. Also thought that he and Kitson didn't get on, not by then anyway. Though the fact he stayed at the clu...

Re: The Non - League thread

Garry Hill in at Ebbsfleet. I think their days in the Conference Prem may be numbered. Heard their owner talking on BBC Radio Kent yesterday saying that their budget is going to be reduced by 30% but was quick to point out that it won't be one of the smallest budget and they will still be competiti...

Re: The very latest in Clement In/Out Polls

In for me. I was on the fence when he arrived and whilst i still don't really know whether he's anymore other than a top coach, like Ian has said before i'm not interested in us continually changing managers. I only wanted Stam to go after what was his final match, as i suspected the problems ran de...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Smith is so all round average it hurts though tbf, think House has a bit more guile about him and will end up being the better player of those two, but isn't close to ready for the first team yet. Smith seemed a bit too similar to Samuel (in ability terms) for my liking. Hope he can turn this loan ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bracknell Town (a) sponsored by local derby fun

Bracknell drew in the FA Trophy today, and replay is Tuesday. Info from Bracknell's Twitter. Damn these competitions that still play replays the proper way rather than waiting 10 days. Have to resurrect this thread in a week or two now. Might have a new manager then as well..... Why, is Scott Marsh...

This isn't as surprising as I first thought. Pretty sure someone told me when Lita was at Reading that either he was from Margate or had family there.

Re: Will going down be a bad thing? poll added.

The only good thing about down for me would be playing at Gillingham (assuming they stay up). As for the suggestion about going back up, in my time as a fan we've generally spent 4 years in a division (in the FL) before going up or down, and currently it will be 6 years. I did read an interesting de...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

League Two is hard for young defenders because clubs aren't prepared to take a risk on them. Dickie and Shyam found that out the hard way. A non-league loan to a local club is less risky and probably means they get more game time. Shokunbi is one of those who isn't going to get in the U23 team any ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

McCleary and Harriott both started and played the full 90 mins for the u23s at the Mad Stad against Southampton today. Surprising given all the praise he's had on this thread that Osho only on the bench, where he was joined by Barrett interestingly (who played the final 10 mins). Won 2-0, Loader and...

Been a good weekend for ex players scoring. Apart from Sweeney's cracker for Exeter, Simon Cox scored for Southend and James Henry scored for Oxford.

Then to top it off, Carrico scored for Sevilla today!
