Re: #SellBeforeWeDai (to someone fit and proper)“ supporters action group

I wasn't at that game. From the season review video, there were horses on the pitch but I don't know whether there was a charge: https://youtu.be/OcAB7FD7Ro8?si=VDteuzy8rvRlSpNK&t=3734 There wasn't a charge but I remember one copper screaming "Get back you c***, get back" at me. They ...

Re: BFTG - Cheltenham

I thought the team did well to win of course but looked (understandably) raw. There’s a long way to go and people need to be patient as I’m convinced we’ll take some batterings this season. I’d never seen Abbey or Vickers play before and I thought the former looked very good, solid, athletic, comfor...

Re: Will relegation hurt you?

Football's cyclic Doesn't have to be. Six teams have been in the PL for the last 30 years. We've been in the top two divisions for more than 20 years. Our relegation is a consequence of a series of poor decisions and parlous management over a period of time, not due to some natural cycle. It was to...

Re: Will relegation hurt you?

I don’t really understand the negativity of this thread and the resigned tone of everyone posting on it. To all intensive purposes our survival is in our own hands and it ‘just’ requires two wins against the 23rd and 21st placed teams in the league. In most circumstances you would say that is quite...

Re: BFTG - Luton

Hound I don’t think the ref ever awarded the goal. Think he awarded the free kick and waited for it to die down before sending him off

Lino didn’t flag though

Ah ok maybe that's what happened. I mean, it was blatant and the correct decision so no matter.

Re: BFTG - Luton

Mr Sitter Referees and their Assistants are in constant communication via earpieces.

Sure, but the linesman didn't flag and the referee awarded the goal so I initially thought they'd missed it.

Re: BFTG - Luton

Thought we were distinctly second best in the first half after the opening 15mins, properly clinging on for half-time. Poor at keeping the ball and a goal looked inevitable (great block by Sarr). Much better start to the second half, a goal, then a dumb sending off. It was so obviously handball I di...

Re: Division one things to forward to……..

I honestly don't think there's anything to look forward to in League One. Maybe a few good away days to places we haven't been to in years. Relegation is a disaster and the idea that we'll be "play-offs at worst" is based on nothing other than wishful thinking. What a state this football c...

Re: Qatar Hero - The World Cup 2022 thread

So, if you see xG as an accurate guide, shows that France did produce better quality chances than England esp as 1.6 of that 2.36 XG were the two penalties. I mean, it doesn't show this at all. France didn't have chances anywhere near as good as England's two penalties yet still ran out 2-1 winners...

Re: Qatar Hero - The World Cup 2022 thread

Those figures don't even include Rashford's free kick either which may swing it even further in England's favour. I don't really agree with the set pieces logic either, it's a very explorable avenue to goal and many of the best teams in the world (both club and international) are very good at them,...

Re: Qatar Hero - The World Cup 2022 thread

I'll criticise England as much as the next man but they were just better than France on Saturday. In every metric apart from the one that mattered, England outperformed the French. And yet despite being second best, France still found a way to win, which is what champions do. The ref was poor but no...

Re: BFTG - Peterborough

It was a terrible game which I'm sure was partly down to the strong wind and poor surface at partly due to the deeply ineffective players on display. Not great from Reading but I've no idea why anyone would go after the keeper. He was a bit up and down but not notably bad compared to some of the out...

Re: How good is Yakou Meite?

Better than the sum of his parts. Bit like Michail Antonio in that respect - they don't really look like they're good at football but they're incredibly effective.

He's got tonnes of enthusiasm too, definitely not a surly wideboy like some modern professionals.

Re: BGTF Coventry

I haven't seen a Reading game in a long time so watched it without any preconceptions of some of the players (Olise, Semedo, Laurent, Esteves etc I'm not sure I've even seen play before) Thought Reading looked a reasonably good side tbh with some surprisingly decent footballers. If anything we just ...

Re: GOMES OUT!

When Gomes goes it simply has to be Gareth Ainsworth. Wycombe are 2nd in League 1 for god's sake! Yep. He more than deserves a shot at the Championship and has lived and worked in this area for a number of years now too. He would be a good fit on paper. I believe he was considered when the position...

Re: BFTG - Cardiff

Swift was outstanding. Always had the ability but looked fit and strong with it. MOTM for me.

I think Puscas will get even better as he gets sharper and used to this league.

Ejaria just glides, he's great to watch. Holds onto the ball a little too long sometimes IMHO but a great performance.

Re: Champions League & Europa League 2018/19

Now that I've seen Kane written off as some kind of long ball target man I think I can officially declare this the worst football opinion I've ever seen.
