Re: Euro 2020

Silver Fox FFS Scotland

Started like a team who have a play-off place guaranteed and don't fancy their chances of finishing above Belgium & Russia.

Re: England - the future....

If there are pull-outs would much rather a manager pulls in young players who are likely to have a long term future around the squad (even if they are a bit low on minutes) rather than going back to old disguarded names.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Winding up hearing adjourned til 3rd April.

Means if they do go into admin then any penalty will be next season.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Silver Fox Story I read yesterday seems to suggest they'll go into administration, with the mandatory 12 point penalty that entails

Would say this is most likely outcome - if they are going to go in then they'll want it to be confirmed today (or before 28th) else they will start next year with -12.

Re: Berks and Bucks Senior Cup 2018/19

Interestingly* the Berks and Bucks website lists the result as Reading Firsts - so seem to be classing this as a first XI fixture - so do these appearances count as first team games for the academy players?

Re: The League of 4

Bolton winding up petition to be heard tomorrow after consortium pulled out of take over. they could well go under. Bolton will be reprieved/saved at the last minute. But if it did happen and they were expunged then Reading, Rotherham, Millwall and Ipswich would all have a point taken away so no ch...

Re: Nine Very Difficult Games - Predictions?

Bolton were as good as down anyway imo Where things would get interesting and beneficial for us is if their results got expunged being as we only got 1 point of them It wouldn't have a massive difference but would bunch things up even more - in the unlikely event Bolton hit the wall tomorrow: 17. S...

Bolton winding up petition to be heard tomorrow after consortium pulled out of take over. they could well go under. If they go, they go - would feel sorry for the fans but that club is in a massive mess and if it were any other kind of business would have already gone to the wall. In a pure footbal...

Re: The League of 4

2 week break now on us - let's hope there's a couple less injured rather than a couple more injured at the end of it. Jose sets a 10 point target from the remaining 9 games. So only a better ppg rate needed than Reading have had all season and all the from the supposed hardest run in of the bottom ...

Re: Nine Very Difficult Games - Predictions?

Lots of rumours around that WBA are after Alex Neil - which could be good news for us if there are legs in that and it drags on for a while.

Re: Nine Very Difficult Games - Predictions?

So you're predicting 5 OR 7 OR 9 points! No, I predicted what I predicted, I'm not interested in emulating your arse covering. So you are predicting 5 Points. 4 Points from the next 8 games? Is that right? It's not hard Snowball. He's predicting 5 points but wouldn't be surprised if one or two game...

Re: Rival Watch

So there was no one more suitable than him to go up and take a penalty? You've shown all you know about football on here and it amounts to very little indeed. They had 10 men, minus the goalie, they had 9 outfield players. They were playing 3 CB's and two full backs. By default, a defender had to h...

Re: Martinez?

I would give us a good chance of signing him at some point. I woudn't. He will go to Villa or another failed playoff side Depends on the player. He has been warmly welcomed here, he like most of the loan players seem to have bought into what is going on and he doesn't have to move house for a loan ...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

Why would we hope to be getting anything against teams in the playoffs away from home? We may as well completely write them off, not going to get anything at Bristol City or Middlesbrough with the players we have available. Because we need to and Bristol City's from has taken a dive over the past 6...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

I developed a spreadsheet for the run-in back in mid-Jan, at the time Preston were 7th bottom (they're now 7th top!), so I included them. At that time we were 22nd having played 27 games. Since then, the bottom 6 has remained the same, and we have won 14 points from 11 games, Rotherham 11 (from 11)...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

Brentford are wildly inconsistent but they’ve certainly lost a few recently. Brum are shit and really should be beaten You’d hope to get draws against Hull, Brizzle, Preston maybe Boro It’ll almost certainly be tight but there are games that are perfectly winnable Why would we hope to be getting an...

Re: Martinez?

Martinez is already on record as saying this loan spell was to get him game time as it was expected he would be #2 at Arsenal next year. The only caveat would be if they signed someone else. If money is tight there then that makes it more likely. Is he a top 6 starter, probably not. Is he good enou...
