He's retired even the guy's twitter bio states that. Seems to be working in football admin now, so the only way he is joining the club is in a back office role.

Re: My first rumour report. Things not well at Reading.

Just to offer a balance I met up with a friend yesterday who works at the club. His take on the behind the scenes situation was rather different. He said Gourlay was brought in because the Chinese believed the club needed an utter revamp. His brief was to sort it out from top to tail. He has upset ...

Re: On this day

I actually think we were 2-0 down at half time if that game is the play-off season and McGhee was still around then. Remember Simon Osborn scoring.... I'm pretty sure we were along the touchline somewhere as the ground was in the middle of re-development; I could be completely wrong though and that...

Re: How Hobnob Team page works - BFTG

Bolton - Lose - 11 pages of posts B'burn - Draw (felt like a loss) - 14 Villa - Draw (felt like a win) - 4 Wed - Loss - 13 Preston - Win - 4 Norwich - Loss - 11 Hull - Win - 5 Draw your own conclusions on the mindset of your average Hobnobber! I'm keeping my RTG firmly on. Hardly a shock. Same in m...

Yep but I really do get the feeling we will never see him in a Reading shirt again.

Re: BFTG , Hull.

Good win and a very good performance. Was very impressed with Ezatolahi until he understandably started to tire. Only been in the country since Monday and not had much first team football (bar with Iran) of late but looks to be exactly what we needed. PC intimated that there is a very good chance of...

Re: BFTG - Norwich

At what point does it become bad enough that he has to go though? For me, Clement could take us down and still remain in the job. Your thoughts? I feel a change is around the corner, home defeat to Hull does it I think. I would be happy to keep him as I don't think it is his fault at all but with t...

Re: BFTG - Norwich

I think it speaks volumes to our situation that I wouldn't mind Warnock if he became available Still, as I eluded to in the other thread, I don't think Clement is the issue See my response. The reason we're in the shit is a succession of inexperienced managers. We need experience. Mick McCarthy? Gu...

Re: BFTG - Norwich

Watching the EFL show on Quest last night, the most successful teams and style showed pace from all the players taking the ball and swiftly moving forward with it while the others moved into space and carried on the momentum. Does anyone in our team do this? Everyone who gets the ball stands statio...

Re: Clement

The first 30 yesterday was absolutely telling about some of the players at the club. Could tell on the post match interview how angry Clement was about it But a) it’s not the first time and it’s up to Clement to ensure it doesn’t happen b) heads have to roll after it. Aluko has to go. Gunter likewi...

Re: Clement

Clement got the job due to Gourlay, as a manager he has failed twice already, as a coach he did well This club has been here before, we have only beaten two other clubs since he arrived. It is time for back to basics, get an English manager in, with English backroom staff, and get rid of all the fo...

Although you can stand enough of a oxf*rd to post a new thread about it on here and draw attention to yourself. Don't let the door hit your arse on the way out. (Again) Well quite. That said, I'm struggling very badly. After being a ST holder for about 22 years and watching for longer. I've seen so...

Quite right - right reason, wrong club  Not being a smart arse here-I just remember Everton paying what I thought was way over the odds for him. Ye, but Villa?! In the Championship? Honestly. Surely someone like a West Ham or Newcastle would have taken him? He only became available when he was...

Re: Rival Watch

When on earth did Bolasie join Villa?! Surely he's easily still Prem quality?! Was left out of the Palace PL Squad, so was available for loan. Imagine Palace wanted him to stay in England in case they want to call him back in Jan so had to drop down a level. Was between Villa & Boro I think. Is...

Given the games on tonight, with a win we could jump up to the heady heights of 17th or 18th. A draw could see us out of the bottom 3. Exciting times.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the season starts here

If you put any stock in xG, shows we did a little bit of a smash and grab on Preston who xG suggests should have won 3-2 (2.5xG V 1.5) rather than lost. Will take that any day of the week though. Important to get off the mark - and with 2 other teams who have struggled so far this season coming up ...
