https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11673/11577893/vitor-pereira-on-readings-list-of-potential-successors-to-paul-clement Vitor Pereira being mooted. I can't imagine the pay cut he'd need to take to come here from China though... Closer to home for him though and we have no idea how much he is ...

Re: Clement sacked!

Sad to see him go, and would've loved him to be a number two here, to an experienced Manager. Thought he was a genuinley good guy However results speak volumes & lets face it, we've been pants for months. His inability to shore up the defence has been his downfall, and IMO its not due to the qu...

Re: Clement sacked!

The fact is whatever you think of Clement, and I think he was slowly building something, he was Gourlay's guy. Something has been wrong at the club since the PO Final and RG was clearly at the heart of it. With him gone, PC was essentially dead man walking as his "protection" was gone. A d...

Re: New Manager

Was having beer in Southern Spain last week, and was told that Chris Coleman was being lined up, this information came from someone high up the chain. I have no reason to think it was ball shit, I did spit my beer out at this prospect. I hope it is balls because I can't think of a much worse choice...

Re: New Manager

Re: Clement

Was not expecting that and feel a bit sorry for the bloke.

It feels like the owners are clearing house and PC was Gourlay's guy, so was dead man walking - so get him out now and the new guy gets the window.

Re: New Manager

I guess the main question is who is heading up this recruitment drive - Howe or Nani? That could push the direction of this appointment.

Re: Clement

If it's rumored to be what I heard last week the next appointment is terrible and would rather stick with clement, but I'm going to put money on it before I disclose when the bookies open said market. Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Typical Southampton would be to appoint some foreigner you have never heard of and announce him as being really highly thought of in the Turkish 2nd division or summat. He will also lose his job before I have started remembering what his name is Heard of Ralph Hasenhuttl? Reports today suggest he w...

Re: Weekend Football

Liverpool have Burnley, Bournemouth, Man Utd, Wolves & Newcastle to go to reach the halfway point unbeaten. Man City have Watford, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester & Palace to do the same. Did notice that Liverpool's fixture list had opened up a bit. Just have a feeling Bournemouth will end thei...

Re: Are we really going down this season

Yes we deserve to. Follow question..... would you prefer it if we go down? I know I would. Why do we ‘deserve to’? Could see an argument for going down last year giving us the chance to shed the dead wood and start again, but PC has pretty much done that already. Can’t see any benefit in going down...

Have to be happy to be drawn against the arguably "weakest" team in the draw.

Re: Euro 2020

Biggest problem was this draw was even more convoluted that usual. Take for example that N.Ireland are in a group with Germany and Netherlands despite the fact that ROI were the team drawn. Reason being that Netherlands, Germany and ROI are hosts and UEFA want to maximise the qualification chances o...

I've just looked at the fixture list and have changed my mind - it will now be either Swansea or Forest at Home as we play them either side of the 3rd round.

The most important factor that you all missing out on is that peace reigns over the Stranded household following this draw, given the way Stoke born Mrs S celebrated their 2nd, things could have got messy.

Good results for us tonight Apart from Stoke getting extra confidence from a win over Derby, with 10 men. But otherwise, yeah, good results One day’s less rest for the Stoke players who will be knackered having played most of the game a player down. Might just work in our favour. #imclutchingatstra...
