Re: Reading FC Womens World

Another 4 figure crowd is good news…obviously we’ll get more for the Chelseas, Arsenals, United etc…but the numbers are steadily trending upwards for the ‘less popular’ teams. Would be nice if there was any cross-promotion between teams at all. Doesn't feel like the club is a cohesive unit, still v...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

We have a good squad, but we really miss Rose going forward. Her pace and trickery have been sorely lacking this season. That and the fact we’ve shipped goals for fun at times has made it tough going. Last few games the defence has looked much better. Mayi Kith has looked rock solid in defence in l...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

I feel like I come away from WSL matches thinking that we never quite live up to how we could play, but we're at the point in the season where as long as we keep picking up points I won't mind too much! Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

The "problem" with a six-point deduction this season is it will be water off a duck's back. It's very, VERY unlikely to take us down So, IF we are penalised this season, I think it will be 12+ If it's just 6 points, I think it would be applied next year. There are rules around when a puni...

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

12 point deduction would be very harsh. What we've done is nowhere near as bad as Derby who lost 21 points. We'll have lost 18 in 2 seasons. It'll be 6 points. The "problem" with a six-point deduction this season is it will be water off a duck's back. It's very, VERY unlikely to take us d...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

It shouldn't, because FFP doesn't include the women's team, but they do seem to be using it as an excuse to underfund the women - Dai Yongge could make us into a superpower if he really wanted to

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

Cheers for that you were a great help as always. So have you read it ? It might avoid you asking questions or making assumptions that are really easy for you to check yourself . No because, believe it or not, I'm not spending my time dissecting the EFL business plan each time I comment, I'd be hopi...

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

https://twitter.com/TimDellor/status/1631309501457395715 It’s a bit like a court handing down a year suspended sentence to a crook, and then calling the crook back into court six months later and even though they haven’t put a foot wrong sending them to prison for the original offence! I don't like...

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

So, we got caught breaching FFP, were docked 6 points and set a business plan to adhere to which if we didn't meet then we were to be docked another 6 points. We are now being docked 6 points for something that happened prior to the business plan being set (a period we have already been punished fo...

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

But I don't get the part about "not being able to get players off our books"? The EFL have signed off all of our incoming transfers which surely means we are in line with what they've said? If they've signed off some of our signings knowing it was going to go over budget (likewise we knew...

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

Being discussed on TalkSport now with Mike Keegan of Daily Mail In brief: Revenue coming in is fine (inc. MU Cup tie) Expenditure (wages) is possibly the issue looking at players they have League are currently reviewing accounts Knock on for other clubs (i.e. Peterborough who went down last season ...

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

Just because we have potentially overspent the business plan, doesn't mean it's not affordable. It basically does though. If we assume (I think fairly) that we're near the ceiling of £16m a season on player wages alone, that would be close to 100% of revenue, based on the numbers since 2018-ish. We...

Re: Points Deduction AGAIN

If they are punishing us for what Ian is suggesting then they are running the club properly, and it is the EFL who are punishing us for doing so. If it is the case then I can only praise the club as it will be better for us in the long run. But if it's costing us more than we can afford, then it's ...
