Re: BFTG - Baggies

I dont watch Reading much anymore but that was men against boys. WBA were everything Reading weren't, aggressive in and out of possession quick to move the ball forward, quick to get bodies forward and a centre forward willing to work for the team and do the ugly stuff. I thought Reading were garbag...

Re: The Non - League thread

shortwood is a shame, nice little club you'd never know it was there unless you purposely went looking for it. Small village (Nailsworth isn't particularly big) at the bottom of the hill where FGR play. Surprised they've not been able to nab more youngsters from there but the Southern League is toug...

Re: The Non - League thread

Keep an eye on what happens with North Leigh we've heard a few rumours that they are going to just play a reserve/youth side next year with no playing budget. Have little sympathy for them, they've overspent every year for nigh on 10 years and never done anything. Their manager is on a contract in ...

Re: The Non - League thread

Thanks for the info AP. From distant memory (when HNA was fun) IIRC aren't you from down Torquay way? Sad to see their demise on the pitch and seemingly off it as well-coupled with Plymouth and Exeter doing well times aren't so great are they? I'm from Didcot actually but Torquay is and was always ...

Re: The Non - League thread

Having backed Macclesfield (in a treble with Man City and Wolves) at 25/1 I have become much more interested in the Conference as well as always having had a passing interest in Poole, Salisbury and Weymouth. I didn't realise what a fantastic paper the Non-League paper was until starting to read it...

Re: The Non - League thread

Been to all of Diddy's games so far really happy with what i've seen, much improved from last season, the new players all look very good and they've adapted to the system quickly. Got a few question marks about who will play where but loads of options which is never a bad thing. Only question mark i...

Re: The Non - League thread

Enjoyed the season just gone, went to most of Didcot's games home and away, even though we were good, bad, indifferent all season ended up 11th which after a shocking start wasn't too bad in the end. Got a few new players in around January time which really helped and with all of the squad except 1 st...

Re: The Non - League thread

Got fixtures for tonight FoC?

Went to winchester saturday, a first half we should have been 3 up in we found ourselves 2-1 down then were awful 2dn half and lost 3-1. More great news as our captain leaves for Banbury.

Really is all falling apart at Diddy.

Re: The Non - League thread

The 4th goal was a long ball which our keeper had to rush out and try to head clear, it went straight to their guy who lobbed it over his head from 25 yards, was a decent finish but wouldn't say spectacular. He'd have been disappointed if he missed.

Re: The Non - League thread

I was there and there were definitely 40 or 50 Diddy fans there, 77 would sound about right it wasn't many from the home support. We were absolutely crap and 4-3 flattered us, can't work us out at the minute we are good one game horrendous the next. Too many individual errors at the back, and too ma...

Re: The Non - League thread

Dismal start but with 6 first teamers missing unsurprising, good 2-2 draw on Tuesday having been 2 down at Half time at Evesham. Diddy having to sign a few players a bit last minute to cope with these injuries but still expect a half decent season, got a reasonable team down there now when they are ...

Re: The Non - League thread

By strict definition yes, but watching 2 teams of highly trained super-fit footballers who get paid a living wage for playing the game is not being a non league fan In my eyes. Not really. That sounds disrespectful I suppose - I don't mean it to. Enjoy the game anyway! Torquay aren't that they are ...

Re: CheLOLsea

It's just natural selection taking place, tinpot clubs always revert back to their rightful place over time, see Wigan dropping down, Yeovil from Champ to League 2, Scunthorpe and others all filtering back to their rightful place, Chelsea back where they belong all they need is for 9000 to turn up f...

Re: Non - League thread 2015/16

As ever lovely work FoC, yeah that's understandable if we score early games are generally ok but if we don't there have been some stinkers this season and lots of frustrating games where we do some good things but our forwards are always off the pace, in the wrong position or just mess it up. We alm...
