Re: Clement sacked!

Feels a bit harsh. Results were improving after that awful start and the players were certainly still giving it their all for him. You could argue that he hasn't been able to coach improvement into our defending but I'm not sure anyone could given some of the players he has to work with. Maybe their...

Re: BFTifollow Swansea

Unfortunately we spent the first half in a 4-5-1 system that the players aren't good enough technically to play. Do the players available perm into any formation? It's a fair point but you'd have to argue yes based on the second half yesterday. We got in behind them, we got our full backs f...

Re: BFTifollow Swansea

Nice 3 days golf in South Wales followed by an afternoon at the Liberty Stadium. Should have made it 4 days golf instead :-) The only difference to Brum was that we at least changed shape in the second half and had a go. In fact, we could easily have got something from the game as we looked a genuin...

Re: Clement

I said if Clement picks Gunter over Yiadom then I’m Clement Out so I guess by default and sticking to my word than I have no choice. In reality I feel he deserves more time but it really depends as we need to see some modicum of progress in any area. Whilst he’s inherited a bit of a shitshow he doe...

Re: Clement

WANTED : NEW MANAGER. Must be able to ensure 1. Mannone stops letting in shots from outside of the box. 2. Blackett learns to track runners thus ensuring no free headers from 6 yards out 3. McShane learns that going to ground in the box doesn't end well. 4. McShane learns that going to ground in the...

Re: Rumour - Cameron Jerome

I really think Bodvarsson is more than enough for us, very underrated in his time here thus far. Lets stick with him and Baldock, no need to bring in any more fire power at this time. I think Jerome would offer the back-up/competition to JDB, Would give us striking options of Baldock/McNulty & ...

Re: BFTG - Leeds

Can't help feeling this side would be so much better with two decent defensive full backs. The amount of unopposed crosses that get delivered in and around our 6 yard box is nonsense. The last few weeks alone have seen not far off a goal a game conceded in that type of manner. Very difficult for kee...

Re: Gunter to Sunderland?

Imagine what a shock it must have been to Gunter on Saturday for him to suddenly discover after many years as a pro that he is actually left footed :) he put in two crosses that topped pretty much anything he’s managed from right back in the past 6 years. Let’s hope he can do it again tonight

Re: Stams Tactics

The system is fluid and everyone knows their roles. Cente backs split in possession, full backs become wing backs etc, etc. It’s a similar style to sides that have got out of the Championship and then stayed up so I can understand the long term plan. The only problem at present is that we’re not quit...

Re: BFTG -Bolton

Yep and 99 times out of a 100 they have hold of the other guy so they either both go over or the other player is at least put off balance. It happens in every Championship game. Leeds v Boro on Sunday was like a Sumo wrestling match at each set piece ! Maybe ask yourself how many times you see a pl...

Re: BFTG -Bolton

. And before the Gunter lovers come back, yes there may have been a foul for the second but proper defenders quite simply don't end up on their arse 8 yards from goal when they need to defend at all costs. Really? No other defender has ever been pushed and gone over... ? Yep and 99 times out of a 1...

Re: BFTG -Bolton

Everyone wants us to buy a striker but our biggest problems are at the other end of the pitch. The defending for the two goals last night was a joke as was the first Wolves goal on Saturday. Only Moore and McShane are genuine defenders. Blackett has great physical presence but is devoid of tactical ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by first half away goal search

Why has Bacuna who has been 'man of the match' in his only two appearances as right back been moved from right back again ? Presumably moving to midfield as Joey is injured. He's quite likely to even better there. Potentially a very good player in a far more influential area of the pitch. He was ex...

Re: Kermorgant

I actually said to my two lads last night that I'd be very surprised if he wasn't asked to consider a deal extension at some point this year. He's arguably playing the best football of his career and is not a player that is any way reliant on pace (somebody else used Sheringham as an example). We'd ...

Re: BFTG - Nottingham Forest

Looking ahead I'd like to see Bacuna back in that central midfield area, (he was excellent there against Swansea) perhaps in the holding role as that is a big defensive weakness for us in my view. All in all a good win but still a way to go before we get to fulfill our potential. With Obita out for...

Re: BFTG - Nottingham Forest

A win and some positives but that was a game that could have ended differently. Reality is that their keeper had a shocker and ours had a stormer. Swap the keepers over and you'd have got a different result. On the plus side we have 30 goals coming back into the team (Kerm+Swift) and that will make ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Millwall (a) sponsored by first half goal search

Well, hope to be proved wrong but glad I decided not to go at the moment. JS has either said to the players you can't be that bad again so put it right or I'm picking the same team until we win a game to prove I'm the boss and the fans don't know what they're doing ! :-) I haven't seen Millwall this...

Re: BFTG - Hull

Ah the life of a football manager ! Given the first half performance of JDB at Brentford you couldn't really argue with him being dropped and McCleary being given a go down the middle. Unfortunately McCleary is not the player of old and to make matters worse he doesn't seem to understand the offside...

Re: BFTG Swansea

The good, the bad and the ugly ! GOOD I like the look of Bacuna. Strong, competitive but also has some real quality and the ability to play forward. Also, we are technically even better than last season in terms of possession and movement. If anything we were slightly better than Swansea in that asp...

Re: Lump on Reading to finish top half

Someone constantly looking to back Reading for top half at 1.98 on Betfair exchange when 2.4 is available on Betfair Sportbook. Nice free bet if you want to indulge in a bit of back and lay. Back to the original point. I agree that the price seems illogical. 3rd last year and added pace at the top e...
