Re: Next England Manager

Took Kits Jnr (1) to his first England game today. Really enjoyed it. We played well enough, but (as is to be expected) Lithuania mainly parked the bus. Probably should have converted a few more of our chances into goals, but we got the job done with minimal fuss. I like the way Southgate is develop...

Re: Neil (i am C**K)Warnock

Neil Warnock is a tremendous manager and I find myself agreeing with most things he says, unless they involve Reading FC. this. though I still pantomime h8 him of course his stints on talk sport have mellowed my opinion of him somewhat and his recent comments about not wanting silence or applause a...

Re: BFTG - Wednesday (A)

On the subject of yellows, Blackett got booked for a terrific take-no prisoners tackle when he cleanly won the ball, he then got a yellow because of the disgusting reaction from not just the player, but the Wednesday bench CC and coaching staff. A bit hypocritical talking about our time wasting as ...

Indeed!! I do like to remind them that in the last 20 years, we've won more than they have.........apparently that doesn't count.....

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Oh, the irony of being accused of cheating by supporters of a team that employs Fernando Forestieri, a player I like by the way, even if he does lose his balance and clutch his face when someone looks at him. Always had a soft spot for Wednesday ever since the Howard Wilkinson days and generally fi...

Re: BFTG - Wednesday (A)

I actually think Blackett is starting to improve & has benefited from a run of games. Was good last night ( but does still need to work on his concentration to cut out the silly mistakes. ) Popa deserves a mention. Gave a good account & his pace on the break was just what we needed. His pac...

Re: BFTG - Wednesday (A)

Also Blackett really needs to work on his concentration. Another couple of mistakes last night which nearly cost us. Agreed! I particularly enjoyed the huge swing of his left boot that completely missed the ball and ended up with Obita giving away a free kick by the sideline just outside the box.....

Re: BFTG - Wednesday (A)

First half we were back to our best, the passing & movement was so slick and we were in total control. Second half we were just under constant bombardment, and in the end we were lucky to come away with the three points. I think we have been trying to figure out our best midfield three, but it'...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by do or die

Just got in with a huge smile on my face......strangely my work mates who were in the home end tonight seem to have vanished. They were giving me grief all week (usual tin-pot, no history rubbish) but they seem to have disappeared behind the Premier League sized chip on their shoulder!! Reading were...

Re: BFTG - Wednesday (A)

Just got home. We were excellent tonight. I'd hardly say Wednesday battered us. They had periods of pressure when Ali made a series of oustanding saves, but it was hardly one way traffic or sustained. For large parts of the game we looked comfortable in keeping them at bay. We played some excellent ...

If Fulham manage to beat Blackburn on Tuesday, they'll be up in 6th and play again on Sat. Not losing on Friday is surely the most important thing, as we all know that we'll lose on the TV to Leeds....At the start of the season I said I'd be happy with a top half finish. I stick by that, but I mean...

I still have my '106' Convey shirt!! I shall be wearing it tomorrow in support of the great man! Amazing he had the career he did considering his health issues then. So sad to hear they still cause him trouble now. Great reading on here how fondly remembered he is! A class act on and off the field!

I would rather it was Newcastle and Huddersfield that went up, but we rather hindered that last night
