Re: Swift to Leeds

Libertine I like Swift. But if the £7million is used to help keep Baker, Ejaria and Miazga in Reading on permanent deals I am all for selling him.

Re: The League of 4

The bottom of the table after the New Years Day fixtures 19 Millwall. 26/28 20 Wigan. 26/26 21 Rotherham 26/25 22 Bolton. 26/22 23 Reading. 26/20 24 Ipswich. 26/15 We were in dire straits. So in 16 games since then 24 points made up of 6W, 6D and 4L. That’s some turnaround. That is some turnaround

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Today marks 1 year of Club 1871, and they've gone from 52 people in the first game to regularly getting 4 to 500, not bad. It was always going to be a slow burner of a project. They have done a great job. Other clubs are taking note. Atmosphere improved ten fold. They just need to keep remembering ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (a) sponsored by James Harper

Norwich looked a really good team last night. It really could / should have been the absolute drubbing we were all expecting. I’ll take a battling point against the top team away all day long but let’s not kid ourselves about just how big the gulf between the teams was. You didn’t need to write all...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Exactly! 650 fans enjoyed the PNE game in the South Stand. Sales going well for Brentford, and we’re hopeful of matching and even breaking that number. As the team perform better, crowds throughout the ground improve, in all stands. Had we had a better season then C1871 would have been a success so...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

We have some real numpties on here. The bottom line is the club endorse it. Having been in there all season I can say without any shadow of doubt that I am enjoying going to games again. I can stand without some pleb telling me to sit down, I can move around, and have a sing song and oxf*rd smile a...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Brilliant how this initiative has really grown and from what I have heard the likelihood that's is here to stay with added incentives to move to the south stand from next season. Well done all. This is most certainly the case. Nigel Howe is a big supporter of the initiative! Please provide evidence...

Re: Rival Watch

9pt deduction for Brum apparently. Not quite enough to really drag them into it, but a couple more defeats and they'll be worried Seeing as their next 3 games are WBA, Leeds and Sheff Utd, I would say it is plenty to drag them into it. In fact, all of their last games now become huge, as their othe...

Re: Nine Very Difficult Games - Predictions?

A caller to BBC Berks on Saturday made the (perhaps obvious) point. It's now an 8 game season and we have to outscore Rotherham to stay up. Looking at the league table, that sounds about right. Ipswich are as good as down, Bolton are in trouble but it's Rotherham who look like the biggest threat to...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Think Man City have got into trouble recently, employing parents as scouts on £600,000 per year !!!! That was Chelsea. Father of one of their current first team players given a multi year contract at about the rate you mention and never done any scouting for them. I was a couple of days early regar...

Re: BFTG Ipswich

doing nothing of the sort JS. Id put our survival at about 50/50 at the moment. I fear Rotherham will probably end the season fairly strongly and our April is gruesome. They know their game and their basic football can get results Just saying their recent form isn't as impressive as might be sugges...

Re: The League of 4

Amazingly* none of our rivals have managed to beat Bolton this year! If their results were expunged (I'm sure the league wouldn't want this to happen) all of us, Rotherham, Ipswich, Millwall and Wigan would lose a point. Possibly of more importance Ipswich, Millwall and Wigan would all have one few...

Re: The League of 4

Word on the street is that Bolton are in dire straits and could be gone as a club in a matter of weeks.

If their results are removed from the table - where would that leave everyone including those above us? Would do us a favour I would guess because we only took the 1 point.

No need for them to be in. Shirts sold, refunds being applied, other staff able to deal with enquiries. Job done.

Be interesting to see the percentage of people who paid an additional amount to comic relief.

Either way.

Shirts sold - tick
Money to charity - tick
Excellent pre sale publicity - tick
Fans in meltdown missing out on shirt that was never dreamt of 5 days ago - tick
