Re: BTFS - QPR

Didn't go last night due to weather, but watched it on the box - player who irritated me the most was Swift. Starting to understand why some Brentford fans described him as "lazy". He just didn't seem to have ay urgency last night. lost count of the number of times he was second to the bal...

Re: Buyout

EverHopeful Just an observation, but why is there an assistant referee on the touch line to right hand side ? No games at madhouse last week!! Seems a little strange to me! Dave-royal, can you explain?

Re: Buyout

Is it possible that when TSI walked away a new short term loan was taken to pay off the loans owed to BZ, and part if that agreement was that the lender would be able to control the sale to guarantee repayment?

Re: Fans falling out of love with away games?

I was just surprised to see Reading below the likes of Barnsley Rotherham Port Vale Doncaster Peterborough Brentford Etc Depends on the location of the away games though doesn't it....? We have 10 away games within 100 miles (as the crow flies) - take Barnsley as an example, they have 15 games that...

Re: Buyout

Only Reading FC could land themselves in financial burnout following close to no activity in the transfer market. :| Always a pleasure to wipe a smile off your face but in this instance, how exactly is that wide of the mark? We spent the least of any football club in the last three windows, s...

Re: Madejski comments on club ownership

I agree wholeheartedly. And of course you need a manager in place who is prepared to take a bit of a risk playing the youngsters, rather then demanding money to sign the journeymen referred to. I think that manager should be more highly paid than one who is given a substantial budget to sign new pl...

Re: Madejski comments on club ownership

Low interest loans to the club (not sure he can afford to do that this time), and annual summer sales of the clubs best player(s). I remember Brian McDermott's relief at investment coming into the club, and admitting how it was always so hard losing your best player every summer, and even harder to...

Re: Accounts

See this is where things get confused, Kebe and Marriappa left in account year, 2013/14, which are not out yet, The wages jumped by £20M from 2012-2013, so that is also 2013/14??? Sorry Cypry, damn fine fella here and always talk sense, but your post makes no sense. The dates dont tie in. JM took n...

Re: Accounts

Just downloaded a copy of the accounts out of interest - a few things stood out to me.... 1) Kebe and Mariappa fees are detailed in note 24 - £3.5M total - I've heard some wildly higher figures mentioned on occasion. 2) We spent nearly £2M (£1,987,326) on incoming players in the Summer (I assume Wil...

Re: it has been a successful transfer window!!!

I'm fairly happy with the way it turned out - a lot has changed during the Window - at the start I'd have said that signing a left back was a priority, but in the last few weeks Obita has come into that role and shone - with Bridge as well we look well covered at LB now. We now seem to have decent f...

Re: Accounts

Not downloaded accounts but think after a couple of comments earlier, it must be done How the hell can we owe TSI £19m after a year, yet SJM loan has remained pretty confident over the last 15+ years. Suggests to me that a holding company paid SJM the original purchase price with this to be repaid ...

It is rather a sad indictment of what the club has become that all we can do is celebrate not losing anyone when most of our competitors have strengthened. http://www.getreading.co.uk/incoming/reading-fc-reject-deadline-day-6656313 Most of our competitors have strengthened? McD new Blackpool manager? Aint much else out there, i think he will leave it though until end of season, would think he would want to come back south I hate to say it, but Oxford are still looking, and given that money's unlikely to be a big concern for Brian, it might just be the perfect role for...

Re: CONFIRMED

Didn't he say funds would be available and not that we would definitely buy anyone? Also, couldn't someone have just resurrected an old deadline day thread? I'm sure the usual suspects will be crying about the same stuff on all of those? I wonder if the bid from the US group buggered everything. I ...
