Re: Ups & Downs 2018/19

The League One relegation battle is going to be crazy. Walsall, in 21st place (the last of the relegation spots) have 42 points, three ahead of Wimbledon, four of Rochdale, and six of Bradford City. If that wasn't already close, Plymouth, in 12th, have 45 points. Just three points cover all of thos...

Re: The Local Journo Thread

The industry has changed Genome, think that is the problem Realistically, not sure there is that much left in the old style journo following the team round. I'm guessing it might end up where you have accredited people from blog sites like Tilehurst End ending up doing a little bit of press confere...

Winston Biscuit https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-47666849

Adam Johnson released from prison

Where does he go from here? Is there any way whatsoever he could be involved in football again?

Re: Rival Watch

This points deduction does not help us one bit . Rather play Birmingham at home last game of season where they are on their holidays versus being in a match where both teams livelihoods depend on it. And we all know how that will end. Apart from the fact they now won't be on the beach when they pla...

Re: Rival Watch

Ilori shouldn't be considered a bad signing either. Mariappa was decent in his short time here. Why not? He was one of the most forgettable players to have ever been at the club. Which one? Mariappa only left because we got relegated, I am sure he would've gone on to have a good career with us if w...

Re: Ex Players

Hate to throw a spanner in but Hob Nobs are,and were, made by McVities,no connection to Huntley and Palmers. H &P were well known for ginger nuts or more appropriately for the broken biscuits which seemed to be part of employees perks and fed most of Reading. Those were the days. Drop a note to ...

For all of those saying Rinomhota, don't get me wrong as he's very promising and looks like he has a bright future but as for this - what he achieved? What significant impact has he had on the team? Has he played in a majority of games? Get a grip.

Basildon Might have been mentioned already but Sky Sports reporting Nelson could be back for the final 3 games, apparently he's travelled to see a team of Brazilian medics who say he is recovering ahead of schedule.

Re: Financial Fair Play

So how do we go about getting the club fan owned and moving this ship back to Elm Park? 1. Get some money together 2. Make the current owners an offer too good to turn down That's the easy part, the more difficult part is actually running the club. The fans would be better off starting their own cl...

Re: BFTG Stoke

Actually came away from this thinking it was a missed opportunity...let’s be honest here, the Stoke players are pretty much on the beach already & are a team full of individuals. In isolation it’s a decent point, but they were there for the taking. Yes I completely agree. We needed to go there ...

Re: Clement's week on a beach in Dubai last week

You're only a superfan if you desert your club and move to Australia for 10 years without attending games despite presumably flying back to visit family and then blab to the local press about being unable to get a ticket for the Reading v Manchester United premier league fixture because being such ...

sandman A shame. He's been covering Reading for as long as I can remember. Never nice to see anyone lose their job like that.

How did he lose his job? I thought he'd resigned for pastures new?

Made redundant. Local newspaper industry is dead.

Re: Injury & Suspension Watch : 2018/2019

Yiadom out of the Ghana squad due to injury. Excellent :( This smells like an important player dropping out of an international squad to focus on their club team. Nothing in it for me, happens all the time. I'd be willing to bet a vast amount of money that I don't have that this is the case. Why wo...
