RUMOUR - Marlon Harewood

With it clear Stam prefers a lone striker to spearhead the attack, could this former Premiership be the answer? Definitely strong and one to hold up the ball, proven at a higher level.

Without doubt knows the game and has a good footballing brain. What's everyone's thoughts on Marlon?

Re: VAR

People recoil at the concept of following rugby's lead, but TMO works perfectly. Essentially the TMO operates first independently of the referee, so when a decision is made, TMO might say 'ref, you should have a look at this again, I think his foot went out of play'. Second, TMO acts as an assistan...

Re: New Training Ground

Is that a hint by Gourlay at the end of that interview that we might be announcing stadium sponsorship in a couple of weeks? They’ve some announcements to make regarding bringing income to the club. Can’t imagine why they’d announce much else unless we’re moving away from Puma and/or that hiddious ...

This referee should be praised - he had a great game. Instead the headlines surround VAR and his apparently controversial decision making

Re: VAR

Also, an acceptance that VAR isn't going to be 100% accurate decide what the level of improvement ('correct' decisions) makes up for the negatives and whilst I'm at it, Alan Shearer is as fick as fcuk! Oh yeah, there were some former player pundit berks pointing to VAR not proving conclusive on, Mu...

Re: VAR

Before we had it, I was all in favour. Now we have it, it's a no. It's too much hassle for not a big enough, or conclusive advantage. Yes, referees get decisions wrong but it's part and parcel of the game. None of the decisions its used for are black and white, unlike goaline technology, and the del...

Re: Rumour - Chris Martin

I imagine we're waiting for them to sign a new striker first. Apparently Cameron Jerome is having a medical there today, after which I imagine he will be on his way. Bit of a weird one that, Jerome is hardly an upgrade on Martin... :| Alan Nixon said something on Twitter about Derby wanting more of...

Re: Back from the game Stevenage

We had a couple of Stevenage fans behind us in the East stand one of whom used to play for Ipswich, not sure who he was but am looking up. Anyway was having a discussion with them about Blackett who they thought looked absolute class and couldn't understand why he wasn't getting in our team regular...

Re: Team for Brentford

It has to be McCleary. Consider Popa part of the squad no more - Stam clearly doesn't fancy him.

How shit is Roy Beerens by the way. He needs to go to the Turkish league.

Re: Back from the game Stevenage

It was flipping freezing. The kit clash was actually ridiculous. Who decides these things? They ran out of Bovril at half-time. We didn't even break 5000 fans, and it was predicted to be cold - how on earth do you run out of bovril? Onto the game First 30 minutes pretty poor, and we could have been...

Re: Rumour - Chris Martin

Struggle to make anything of those betting odds personally, but it’s odd to think our low league position has actually made us the favourites to sign Chris Martin in comparison to the teams doing well championship. Funny old game huh? Derby don't want to loan to a promotion rival which makes us fav...

Not surprised either - cracking little away day tbf*. Hopefully see him round the back of the Griffin for a pre-match pint and possibly a dangerously undercooked burger. * In all honesty it's often the only away game I bother going to now that we don't regularly play QPR or Southampton.
