Re: New Manager

Castro looks like a done deal. IMHO it looks like an Agent doing a stich up job. I doubt whether we would move much beyond £300k basic salary for the Manager. So the Agent makes somewhere North of £30k on the deal. Not bad for a couple of days work. Although small change if acting for Pogba or Hazar...

Re: BFTG Sheffield

In many ways I thought that our worst performance I have seen this season. We carried zero goal threat for 90 mins yet we supposed to be a goal scoring team. With the lack of organisation in our error prone back 5; we have to score goals-yet today there was absolutely nothing-zilch/nul points/blank,...

Re: Are we really going down this season

Until a couple of hours ago, I put it at 60/40 to go down-now with the right Manager and dead cat bounce-plus possible points drops for Brum and Bolton; I think 50/50 , is more realistic. Last season , I thought we had 5 top class Championship players; Alukho, Bacuna, Barrow, Moore and Swift. This s...

Re: BFTG - Stokies

Bit ironic that Barrow should pull Clement out of the knackers yard-given their apparent disputes this season. Strange selection prompted by more illness and injury-hopefully after Tuesday;Clement was forced to pick Gunts. IMHO: Jakkola 7 : Couple of good saves, didn't do much wrong. For some reason...

Re: BFTG Leeds

Back From The Telly Pre match Sky had Swift playing behind the front two; with three midfielders behind him-OK no problem with that-makes the most of his talents-but oh no, right out of Clements Real Madrid playbook;Swift's playing left wing back. Which for a player who can neither tackle or run; wa...

Re: BFTG - Ipshit H

Clement probably lives to fight another day. If one of Baldocks two efforts had hit the target, his supporters could contend that hes turned it round. However the ineptitude of that 1st half performance defies belief in a professional team. In the end a draw was probably fair. IMHO: Jakkola 5: Maybe...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (a) sponsored by Nigel Adkins last game

That was absolute garbage; were they on the wacky bakkie. How often did we give the ball away.

Clement has to go we keep on making the same mistakes week in and week out.

BFTG Milwall

Not quite daylight robbery; but Jakkola kept us in the game;when for long periods we were under the cosh. Albeit Milwall had one tactic, launching the ball into our box every opportunity. And boy did it cause a panic. IMHO: Jakkola 8: MOM. Didn't know he had it in him; half a dozen top class saves.T...

Re: Solutions to problems (instead of moaning)

Our best and probably only solution (unless Alukho and Barrow suddenly turn it round); is the system used against Hull. That is with Baldock and Sims running themselves into the ground for an hour-before releasing Barrow. Bodvarson through the middle-I would have had a melt down if he played against...

Re: Gourlay

OK, Gourlay may not have initiated these howlers (although its almost certain it was him), but he signed them off; which is indicative of what a total non footballing person he is: New contracts for: Jakkola :OK he might have panicked about getting a back up goalie, pre season-but back up goalies ,t...

Re: BFTG West Brom

From the sublime to the ridiculous. Excellent 1st half, with Swifty running the game; then Walker has a howler, heads go down as a man; Clements sits on his hands for ten minutes instead of changing it immediately (he has to go-that 2nd half was a disgrace) and to cap it all we just aren't fit enoug...

Re: BFT - I don’t know what to call it

Just been told by someone who watched on telly, that all three "penalties" were dives & the Ref was too embarrassed to issue a third booking.

What were they thinking of-that's just plain dumb .

BFTG Hull

Wow that was great. I cannot remember when I last felt so good after leaving the Madstad. Apart from Hull being very poor; I felt the difference today was the sheer effort the wide players especially put in. Take a bow, Sims, Baldock, Yiadom and Ilori. While everybody must have thought we were playi...

Relegation

After Norwich; I speculated that two clubs were facing 12 points deduction because of FFP rules;namely Brum and Bolton and that we only had to be better therefore than one other club. Events have moved on, and will no doubt continue to do so. A death bed bequest of £5 mill , has been left to Bolton(...

Re: BFTG - Norwich

OMG. That 1st half was as bad as anything Jap came up with. Then for 20 minutes we dominated, only to make a calamitous error (midfield and defence), at best naïve on that 2nd goal. IMHO: Walker 5: He is probably a bit thick, never knows what he is doing. But not at fault last night. Gunter -1: Has ...

Re: BFTG - Weds H

TBF this was better than Bolton;at least they put in a shift ;unfortunately we were well down on any quality. My one criticism of Clement is that playing 4-2-4 at this level is suicidal; unless you have two really good CM s which we don't have. If you are going to pick Alukho; put him in the hole be...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Watford (h) sponsored by a difficulty to enthuse

Really BFTG, but cant be bothered. Firstly I have to say I was impressed by Watford Reserves. Just shows what you can achieve with a good coach and staff. Everytime one of their players were under pressure in possession, there was always at least one player available to accept a pass. Then that seco...

Re: Team for Bolton (h)

McNulty or Baldock ? Was going to make this a separate topic; but in the circumstances, team for Saturday is the right one to raise this question. Are they too similar ? I must admit I was more impressed with Baldock on Tuesday night rather than McNulty; but it was only during the highlights after;t...

Re: BFTG Birmingham

More by accident rather than design last night, ended up in lower West.Wont be sitting there again;although it does make you realise how fast , intense and physical the modern Championship is. Enjoyed the game, and a bargain for a fiver. Clement obviously wants a fast intense game, with quick passes ...
