Re: Brentford away

I don't think my messages are getting posted. Where is everyone drinking before too? My friend is coming but he cant be there until just before the start and I wanted to have a few drinks first. There are a number of pubs around the ground most are 'friendly' and welcoming afaik. The one used last ...

Now that the Ox is at Liverpool I'd rather get Dominic Solanke on loan.

Re: BFTG - Birmingham City

That was a much better performance after being abysmal at Preston and QPR, from the start we played our game and Brum just sat back and let us. For a home team Brum were awful, pretty well no pressing from the front which allowed us to control the game. First half we should of gone ahead with the Jv...

1-0 to Brum, our appalling away form against poor teams continues.

Re: Back From The Match - Preston

I didn't go to the game or listen to BBCRB but noticed in yesterday's press that Hugill was their star man. I am Just interested to know from anyone who went to the game, or listened to the commentary, if he is the type of striker that would be a big plus for us? I really rated him last year when I...

Re: Preston fan in peace and ale

The PNE fan was right The Sumners has gone really down hill. Signs outside for Sky Sports but nothing inside. No food served, beer in plastic glasses and the whole place was looking pretty tired. I don't think I'll be returning in future seasons.

Re: Back From The Match - Preston

We started off OK playing our normal game for a few minutes but then as soon as Preston started to get at us we just played hoofball and got out fought all over the pitch in a scrappy game. Preston were just more competitive and up for it than us, it wasn't helped by a card happy homer of a ref that...

We usually go to The Sumners but the recent reviews don't look too good.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the first long trek of the season

Came up last night, after many hours in traffic which the team probably also endured, I can't see us doing too well but there's always hope that our away form will pick up one day and we hopefully can't be worse than that QPR performance.

Re: Rumour: Sone Aluko

At over 6ft, a lot more than the diminutive Wells.

IMHO neither are what I'd call a "proper centre forward" like for example Harry Kane.

What style is that, those two players are completely different types of strikers

I think that timing is quite optimistic, I'd of said 30mins, but there's a couple of decent pubs you can stop off at on the way.

Re: BFTG - Villa

Despite the odd team selection with no striker I thought we played really well tonight. First half we just kept the ball and occasionally played some really nice stuff, it looked only a matter of time before a goal was coming. I think the formation was 4-4-2 diamond with the 2 being Popa and Barrow ...

Re: Post Game Traffic

I think they've made an absolute mess with the F1 buses. The new taxi rank was completely unused before and after the game, taxis were still going up the hill to drop people off. Moving the buses to load in the car park now means they want them to wait until the crowd clears before the let the buses...

I thought the queues to get in was mostly because only half of the turnstiles were open. What was all that about?
