Re: World Cup Punditry

people moan too much about this kind of stuff...

but...

Lawrenson is pretty annoying. it is like listening to an old man in the pub who mumbles something every now again and you're kind of forced to say "mmmmhmmmmm"

Re: Ingerlund Vs Tunisia

I hate England football (usually). However this time it's different. I really buy into Gareth Southgate, he seems absolutely perfect and just what we need. Astute, can really understand the way the public feel, says the right things. Also I do feel this whole squad seems to be really working well. G...

Re: England’s World Cup Finals 2018

Watched the first game at home. but will probably do pubs for the remaining games. I understand they have a large outdoor screen down Station hill. free entry up to 90 minutes before kick off.most of these places are likely to be mega busy once the knock out stages start. The walkabout can go and d...

Re: The generic transfer thread

A lot of talk that Real Madrid are close to signing 17 year old Brazilian Rodrygo Goes from Santos for about €40M. He has only started 9 league games for them. Deal done. Reportedly at a total of €54M Santos receive €20m now and another €20m in installments. Rodrygo gets €5m personally (he gave up ...

Re: The Local Journo Thread

I don't mind JLow - he has improved a lot. Quite liked the grumpy version at the end of the last season who was handing out 2s and 3s in his match ratings. He obviously has no contacts whatsoever, but get the feeling he at least tries Got a ton of respect for him for having continued and improved d...

Pished off that this is the only game on the opening day. I guess it's to give them all he limelight, but c'mon, the first day should be 2-3 games. At the very least an evening game

Re: World Cup 2018

Where's everyone watching the England game on Monday? I'm tempted to go to the big screen bit at Station Hill What's the set up with the big screen? Can any passer by watch or do you need to pay to get entry to the area? If you arrive within 90 minutes of kick off it's between £3-£5 ... get there b...

Re: South Stand

Oh and it's brilliant that this is unreserved seating.

Also remember that safe standing is likely to become more and more regular across the leagues (I think anyway). Reading have supported this campaign and I can imagine them installing this in the South Stand.

Means we're unlikely to see 20,000+ fans in the stadium any time soon unless we catch a big team in the cup. Oh but at least the numpty 'ultras' will be able to do their thing I can't support that attitude at all. Reading fans are a whining bunch of tw@ts... we want more atmosphere and as soon as p...
