Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Tiger and Narin are both staying, Sassima is going. Probably a controlling stake for the Chinese, but not entirely sure, basically the Thais want to remain involved but have money in from other sources. Imagine the Chinese want control. Looking at how the Belgian team seem to be set up, I can't see ...

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

I also like the look of Botafogo's Camilo. I reckon he could do a job for us in the Premier League. He has enough flair. Going to the Brazilian league, I'd love Giorgian De Arrascaeta to ply his trade in the English leagues. I reckon Thonny Anderson from their youth team has a hell of a career ahea...

Narin took on Samrit's share.

Tiger has 25%.

Why would I want anything with RobsonKanu (or even Robson-Kanu) on?

Premature and ten years too late in just one scarf.

Re: Our rightful place?....

In 2015, our average final league position over the previous 50 years was 44th (below even Oxford  ). So on that basis, historically, we 'belong' in the third division. But no team 'belongs' any division - they have to win the right, repeatedly, as others have said. Next, let's discuss whether...

Re: Our rightful place?....

There's a "we're on our way back" chant, but I've heard nothing about it being "where we belong" :? OK, so I was maybe trying to fit the stats I found.... ...but "back" does imply something similar doesn't it... But good stats right? "Back" just implie...

Re: Who do you want to miss out on the play offs?

I think Weds are the best team on paper. There's a lot experience and quality up front. not that it counts for a lot. I think Fulham will exhaust themselves trying to get in, Leeds are bang average with a good goalscorer, and Hudders and us are good all round teams with the best management. Best te...

Re: Who do you want to miss out on the play offs?

Does anyone know any Fulham fans? Would be interesting to know if they rate themselves as highly as we appear to. I know one at work, he reckons if they make the playoffs it's theirs to lose. Would be interesting to hear what team other play off hopefuls want to miss out. I wonder any of the other ...

Between Fulham, Leeds or Ian Royal for me.

Although, Wednesday and Huddersfield won't exactly be pushovers either.

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

The land thing really doesn't bother me. We were selling players to pay the tax man before they turned up. They will still hold a 25% stake and on balance, I reckon we'd be in a much worse place without them. I think they've been relatively open about their aims and have generally been good for the...

Re: Loan players

Steve Death, forgot he came on loan first - that was way back in 1970 so he must be the first player Reading took on loan. Didn't think the loan system really started properly until the late 70s though. Funny that its difficult to recall outstanding loans only mediocre or best forgotten ones; Luke ...

Yep. Because the seats are like a chartered Monarch flight.

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Wouldn't be shocked if we saw a few of our players (tiny Danzell and Sandro Wieser to name but two) go out on loan to Roeselare next season.... Also, is there any chance the Chinese team will be used to help sign players with bigger names/wages and loan them internationally (a la Watford) to help us...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Surely the best way to be able to get an insight into these guys as owners is to look at what they've done elsewhere? Last June Xiu Li took over KSV Roeselare. Some good information on her involvement there is available at TTE: http://thetilehurstend.sbnation.com/2017/3/30/15097250/dai-xiu-li-hawken...

Re: Away from home

On away games alone I think we'd be 9th (on points), but 21st on goal diff and 23rd on goals conceded per game. Also 9th on goals scored per game. On home games alone I think we'd be 2nd behind Brighton, 4th on goal diff, 9th on goals scored & 3rd on conceded. That's very specific for an "...

Moore, Kermorgant, Al-Habsi for me. In no particular order. Can't pick With a nod of kudos to McShane, Williams and Kelly. Although I'm due we can't over-estimate the amount that tiny Danzell, Sandro and Mendes have added behind the scenes. I'm sure we'd be hovering just above relegation without the...
