Re: New Manager

He sounds a talented guy, but it would be incredibly hard to implement his plans in a badly struggling teams that's got no heart when he can't even speak English. He might be exactly the right manager, at exactly the wrong time. I don't get this hang up, he speaks a little, but not fluent. Bielsa d...

Re: New Manager

Based on this (having never heard of the guy previously), I'm excited by the potential of this. I'm liking what I'm learning about this guy, a lot. Equally, Jokanovic would be a great appointment, but I'd also be ok with the likes of Steve Bruce, Danny Cowley, Gareth Ainsworth, Mark Warburton, Carlo...

Re: New Manager

Talking of Castro, I've been talking to Portuguese fans a bit today. He is someone who's really dedicated to long term projects, and that's how he picks his clubs. He spent most of his career in Porto's academy building the foundations for some players that are starting to appear now: Rúben Neves, D...

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

I was speaking to a fellow Reading supporter the other day who has met Maffff in real life. Described him as a really odd fellow who is more than likely on the autistic spectrum. Hey man, not all us on the spectrum are like that! Yeah I know that, Maffff most definitely is though. ADHD potentially,...

Re: New CEO

Actually, Gourlay was in by then and would have has oversight.... Not until summer 2017. We broke our transfer record on Ilori in Jan 17 and bought Popa in too along with the loan signings of Grabnan and Oxford. And to be fair, Ilori has been a good signing, Popa showed he should have been good. Gr...

Re: Clement

IIRC Dembele went for only £500,000 or so after not agreeing a new contract. One of the bargains of recent years and we could all see that he would become a decent player. BTW isn't there another Sessegnon on the fringes of their first team? We can but hope that one day the millions spent on the Ac...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

I thought he was going to be a star. He looked like he had time on the ball but he fell out of favour rapidly and sank without trace Think he has had 2 major knee injuries in 2 years. Sounds very unlucky in the injury front - Shame as certainly had ability I think in hindsight, the loan to Dundee U...

Re: If Jokanovic became available

Wasn't meant to be a jab - thought it was a fair question. Jokanovic has a great Championship pedigree, hardly 'another foreign manager' in the Stam mould.

Anyway, honoured to be welcomed into HNA? infamy. So this is what it feels like to be beloved.

Re: SPECULATION: Wes Foderingham

Prior to Al Habsi's arrival we were linked with Foderingham when out of contract at Swindon. Now well down the pecking order at Rangers and with our goalkeeping situation seemingly undecided, could he be the answer, possibly on a loan deal? Hammersmith boy so would be a lot closer to home... "...

Re: Clement

Yep, can't see him staying on. How long is O'Shea's contract? We could really do with someone in his and McShane's style who isn't either really old and slow or in total decline. Moore, Ilori and A N Other like that, plus back up in Blackett, Holmes et al would do nicely. End of the season. Be inte...
