Re: Ignoring skill and ability - who is your favourite ever Reading player?

Noel Hunt.
For continually taking the p1ss out of Alex McCarthy’s lack of skill during keepie-uppie sessions at half-time when they were both subs. And for trying to block an attempt on goal with his head whilst lying on the ground.

Is there a thread yet for those of us who are worried that the 106 record is in serious danger?

Re: BFTG Swansea

Summed up for me in the first five minutes when someone, Beerens I think, broke free down the left, but when he looked up there was no one within 30 yards of the goal, and no one trying to bust a gut to get into the box either. So apparently we were playing without a striker at all. I think we only ...

Re: 8.00 Evening kick offs

SouthDownsRoyal We were the only 2000 k.o? Big wow

But ours was also the only game on Tuesday to go to extra time I believe. Statistical analysis therefore proves that later kick-offs lead to much later finish times. Has this even been taken into account by the powers that be?

You're all f<cking wet blankets   Both teams did ok... but our fans were truely garbage. No backing without the drum. Daytrippers everywhere. HF deserved it. This. Strange ticketing in the lower tier seemed to put 1 block of families all sitting down in between the two blocks where every...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Fulham (h) sponsored by whoever's got the bottle

Ali Al-Habsi is a total legend. More articulate and intelligent sounding in (I presume) a second language than most British players in their first language. So pleased for him. Considering he was a keeper so many of us thought nothing of when he came here......with his reputation as a liability.......

Re: Matchwatch : yeovil (h) in the couldnt give a flying one cup

Attendance: 739 :D The archetypal game of two halves really, you couldn't see us losing it at half-time. And I'm in agreement with most of the player ratings given above. Here's mine: Moore - can't remember him doing anything but pick the ball out of the net but not at fault for the goals Cooper - L...

Re: Back from the game: MK Dons

Possibly the best value for money ever. I think there was +3, +8, +1, +3 minutes of additional time (although the stadium announcer is unintelligible and by the time he's said "The Fourth Official has indicated there will be Splsfdf minutes of additional time" he's usually just switched hi...

Re: Evening kick-off time

8pm for me too for purely selfish reasons (I have a bit of a journey to the Madejski and I would have to leave work early which is frowned upon). Also doesn't the later kick-off give us an advantage sometimes? Like when we knew that West Ham had drawn, one goal and we're going up and so on. Perhaps ...

Re: Season tickets 2013/14

Let my ST lapse this year for first time in 10 years (was feeling a bit bloody-minded tbh after sitting through 10 1/2 hours of turgid football without seeing us score a goal, plus I thought McDermott was harshly treated and I just can't bring myself to like Adkins, no matter how hard I try) . I fig...

Longest goalless run

It occurs to me that it is now 7 games since I saw a Reading player score a goal. OK, so I haven't been to all games... RFC 0 Wigan 3 RFC 1 Villa 2 (Comedy Villa own goal) Man U 1 RFC 0 RFC 0 Soton 2 RFC 0 Lpool 0 RFC 0 QPR 0 RFC 0 Man C 2 ...but I don't think I can ever remember such a barren run a...

Re: Alex Pearce

Really quite pissed off by this. Alex Pearce was a great player for us last season (Championship), and his celebrations after goals and wins were something to behold, and definitely a motivator in the squad. I think the whole long-running saga with him not signing a new contract and McDermott leavin...

McCarthy also got a mention at my kid's school prize-giving evening last week from his former headmaster. However they are still rather more proud of Matt Jarvis for some reason, and after mentioning that a former pupil had been transferred to West Ham for £10 million, when he then said "and Al...

You didn't take the full allocation though did you? Just 1662 tickets or something like that.... The same allocation as Stoke took and all clubs take for a league fixture at Anfield. Another thing their tickets were a couple of quid less that Reading's. I don't understand. It's because we're a bigg...

Re: Not using my season ticket - options?

Funnily enough I spoke to the ticket office about this very thing today. They said they're putting a re-sale system in place but it's not ready yet. They suggested calling the ticket office about it again in a couple of weeks. Makes a lot of sense for the club to do this, they could give you back sa...
