If he had a world-cup winning central midfielder who only turned up to play in December he might have done.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by Yakubu

So the Derby win COULD give them a lift OR They could come down, do a version of after the Lord Mayor's Show AND They may, however slightly, be thinking of the fifth round (Accrington in the 4th) AND They are certainly not going to be 100% mentally fresh (small margins etc) AND However slightly, th...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by Yakubu

It looks as though Derby are fielding their first eleven at Southampton tonight. Let's hope for extra time, the odd sending-off and injury. THEY,ve made 6 changes from their last game....... Maybe but only the keeper would be regarded as a non first-teamer. A good outcome for Reading, although the ...

Re: Man CitHEHEHE

the empty seats made me think Citeh fans have given up on the season already, which seems premature I think that is just standard for a non-top 6 game at The Etihad. Wasn't it their 4th home game in 11 days?. The owners might be billionaires but the fans aren't and football is no longer an inexpens...

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

I see that Sam Gallagher has returned to Southampton.
It might be a case of waiting till the near end of the transfer window because Austin is suspended and Gabbiadini has gone.
I expect Saints to be in the market for possibly 2 strikers so he might be allowed to leave.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

They have been in meltdown mode on social media all weekend, still going now. They genuinely think they are some sort of footballing superpower. Years and years of frustration I suppose. Don't forget they have won the European Cup more times than Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal put together and just one...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

A lot of prickly Forest fans this weekend blaming the ref. It's easy to say as a Reading fan but I don't know how they can complain with both reds (Murphy could even have gone for his wild lunge too). Ref was shocking today. So inconsistent. Punished fouls by Forest by let similar ones off for Read...

Re: Tiago llori

Am I the only one who thinks illori is a decent CB and worth more than £3 million...? One week he looks worth £6 million, the next £1. Whether a player can become more consistent is the issue. It's not as if he is inexperienced so that reason doesn't work. Is he in the wrong league?-Maybe. We will ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Another win and another clean sheet-the grinding out of results continues. The next 4 fixtures for Liverpool, City and Spurs are very winnable(including Spurs v Man Utd today) so I can see these three stretching away from the others and making it a very interesting rest of season. I think Liverpool ...

Re: Clear out started

Just on these ins and outs I wonder how much impact Gomes has had on the decision making. Has he seen much of our two loan signings? Can he possibly tell from just a few training sessions whether people like Meyler, McNulty, Mannone etc are any good? He is surely being advised by somebody and that ...

Some decent loans from Chelsea previously in Chalobah, Ake and the unforgettable David Lee but then we also had Piazon.

Probably best to play him deep. And drill balls down the throat of the opposition.

Re: Weekend Football

This. The problem with VAR remains the way in which it is used and fans' understanding of what decisions will be overturned and when, not the technology and the decisions made. Another example is the two minutes that the ref in the United v Reading game spent standing motionless with his hand to hi...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

I only watched the first 45 last night, but how bad was Sturridge? He was, wasn't he. In fact that he kind find a new club says it isn't just Klopp's style that he doesn't suit. The days of a poacher who coasts around doing little else are long gone. His career beginning to look like a poor one, pu...
