Re: Relegation Watch

Don't want it to go to the last day. I still haven't got over that day when we were 4-0 up at Derby and Wembley-bound Pompey contrived to lose 1-0 at home to Fulham. The daft thing is that in our game both sides just played out time in the second half when IIRC an 8-0 (not beyond the realms of possi...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

You get the impression that generally Joey is quite popular at the clubs he has played for so , despite his image and past , he might prove to be a successful manager.
He may be the new Warnock.
My one fear for him would be his lack of self-confidence.

Re: Season Tickets 18/19

I will be renewing regardless really as it's time I get to spend with my Dad, I think my Dad also likes going for the same reason and we've got my nephew along with us as well. You are in the same boat as me-Reading home games are when I meet up with my brother and my mate of many years. I come up ...

Re: Champz League 17/18

A Roma v Liverpool final would be the neutrals wet dream I f#cking hate Liverpool. Would have loved City to have turned em over tonight.....but then the city players were c*nts trying to get Mane sent off. Ideal scenario. Madrid in the semis, and if that fails Munich in the final. I couldn't bare t...

Re: BFTG - Preston -Home

Ah yes, the using the selection choices of poor performing Reading managers who've consistently failed and often had no alternatives at right back to defend Gunter, rather than anything he's ever actually done. Already dismissed your other point by explaining Bodin had just as many shots against Gu...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Don't get the hate for Fulham. Now as for Cardiff, regardless of Warnock, it's not so long ago that we were barricaded in our own ground while the police allowed their fans to throw bricks at us ( I had young children with me) , the police having riot shields behind which they cowered as we walked a...

Re: Recreating Elm Park atmosphere

I guess the aim isn't to recreate the 2,500 people watching bottom half of Div 4 stuff[/quot Yep. Plenty of games at Elm Park would have been dire affairs played out in front of very small crowds with little atmosphere. The Elm Park experience is exaggerated. Besides we do have a decent atmosphere ...

Re: BFTG Villa

Have just seen the goals on TV. A message to Chris Gunter, after his pathetically weak attempt to challenge when the player headed the second goal, for him to use for himself:=- "My New Manager Resolution is that I will from now on challenge opposition players both in the air and on the ground ...

Re: Aston Villa v Reading FC Official Prediction Thread

Reading knackered after Friday's effort might struggle with Grealish dancing through our midfield. Icing on the cake would be Preston losing at home to Derby to mess up their play-off hopes ahead of our game with them next Saturday but can't see it. Villa surely more knackered playing 24 hours late...

Re: Aston Villa v Reading FC Official Prediction Thread

Reading knackered after Friday's effort might struggle with Grealish dancing through our midfield. Seeing Smith win every header in the second half for QPR am worried about set-pieces from Snodgrass-can just see John Terry scoring from a header and was disappointed to see that Kodija is fit again. V...

Re: BFG QPR

Stam had Aluko for 7 months, Clement has seen him for about 7 days. Right from the off he was at it and in the second half he didn't feature much as it was just backs against the wall. For football matches I often bet on number of corners and yesterday there were more than the quoted 10. The other t...

Re: Stam Gone

Gunter is right to say the players let Stam down with abject performance after abject performance. However this was his squad with the majority bought during his time in charge. Stam was given every chance to turn things around. It was clear he wasn’t going to be able to do so. Quite right that thi...

Re: Stam Gone

None of those managers managed to turn him into the strong, reliable and focused defender that we need BUT there is hope as both Clement's dad and brother were full-backs (with dad being a particularly good one)so maybe Paul can work the oracle. I won't be holding my breath because our central defen...

Re: Paul Clement appointed as new Royals boss

Since leaving Swansea at the end of last year, Clement has spent time studying football and sport on the other side of the Atlantic, but now he arrives in RG2 to return to club management as a Royal. I am looking forward to seeing the cheerleaders ahead of the QPR game and getting candy and popcorn ...

Re: Players on social media

I've noticed a few players commenting on Jaap Stam since his departure, and they all seem to support him (not that I would necessarily expect any of the current squad to openly criticise him). Chris Gunter here is suggesting he was let down - https://www.instagram.com/p/BgnSTqRhmSP/?hl=en&taken...

Re: New Manager Press Conference 12pm today

At both clubs seems to have done well at the start and then things went wrong. Sounds exactly like what we need at the moment. Just give him a contract until the end of the season and decide then what to do long term. Can't see him accepting a short term deal. RFC is renowned for giving lucrative l...
