Re: Safe standing progress

Frustrating to think Oxford United will likely have safe standing before we do. In fact their Ox rail system is better than conventional safe standing as you can sit down at half time. https://www.oufc.co.uk/news/2018/july/ox-rails-update/ Will that be in the stand behind the goal with the car park...

Tranmere 1 Reading 3 - PO SF 1st Leg. In all my years, this was the most perfect away performance I ever witnessed. Tranmere were played off the park and their fans showed their appreciation at the end. A brilliant, brilliant day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwxI5e06HXU JM getting the beers in ...

Re: The Non - League thread

One of the parents of a lad in my U7's is a die hard Sh*ts fan and mentioned yesterday that they had heard about Ebbsfleet and also another club also in difficulty who may also give them a lifeline However much i detest them its always good to have them higher in the pyramid than dropping back down ...

Saw Sandhurst scrape a 1.0 win over Kensington, bit of a hit and miss season for Town but ended off the season with the 3 points

Sat behind a lad in the stand who was watching the Hull game on his I-Pad so a bit of multi tasking match viewing required

Remember in the mid 80's a weird plastic card collection, maybe by Panini which had clear plastic cards with the players printed on them, always remember the Racing Club Paris was part of the collection Trying to remember my Parisian football. It's nothing like, for example, London. Paris FC were br...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

The deal with Macron was signed several months ago, not last month. Talks began in June. Gourlay was also discussing a stadium sponsorship deal with them but I’ve heard nothing for that coming to fruition. The Macron deal was completed formally last month. Seeing that they're round the corner and w...

[quote="2 world wars, 1 world cup"]One of my favourite games ever was our Elm Park clash against Bolton in late 90s where Quinn was in goal but we still won 3-2  My confrontation with and goading of angry northern troglodites after the match made my year. Where's Morley when you need ...

Pretty much this. So many scouts out there - word gets out if anyone is decent watching. Also the parent has a key role to play, putting him up with advanced football centres who often play matches against professional run teams etc. In general, the cream get identified. Exactly,my lad is 6 and wit...

Re: Clement

to be honest, they cast the net quite wide already in the academy/Development squads, at least within the Greater Reading area (is that a thing?) Pretty much every decent kid I've come across in my time coaching is already on the books in some way or another by the age of 8 Be interesting to know w...

Re: The Non - League thread

Draw made for 4th qualifying round of FA Cup today. Quite a few local sides still left. Maidenhead have a tough away game probably at Chippenham. Winchester have a plum away trip to Torquay although they may have fancied a home tie I have tickets for a Tom Robinson gig in Southampton that Saturday,...
