Re: Anyone Nervous?

I think 1 more point will secure it, we'd probably survive with our current points haul

Anyone Nervous?

For the pretty huge game on Saturday?

Tomorrow's game with Forest and Barnsley will be a nerve volume definer. If Forest get something then I will feel quite calm.

Re: Relegation Watch

Let's hope we finish the job on Saturday. The thought of being in the same league as Accrington Stanley, Lincoln, Fleetwood and Bristol Rovers makes my blood boil.

Re: Relegation Watch

We badly need Forest to get something on Tuesday.

If Barnsley win then Burton are down meaning their fixture vs Bolton becomes meaningless (so won't go for it). If we then fail to beat Ipswich, a Barnsley win and Bolton winning means we could go down if we lose to Cardiff

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by c'mon URZ

If Barnsley and brum win we are as good as down. Bolton are 2-0 down to Wolves and look to have lost, they'll have to get 4 more points than us in the remaining two games to overtake us with their goal difference. Away to Burton and home to Forest could easily be 6 points for them. It means we have...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Sheffield Wednesday (a) sponsored by c'mon URZ

I think this will be a tougher game than we envisage. The pressure is off them as they're safe so they're likely to have a right go at us. I actually think we should play 5 at the back and keep ourselves solid.

Re: Building for next season

Off topic from a playing personnel point of view but I think if we get the recruitment right in the summer then we could have a very good season next year. We've got quality in the squad but it's lacking depth and balance. I think 2 good forwards (not necessarily already proven in this league) and a...

Re: Nicky Hammond Leaves WBA

I'd have squeaky back. He got us some great deals for players who weren't that good. He got us a legendary £3m for Blackman, getting £2.5m on Halford and nearly £5m on Matt Mills.

He wasn't perfect but played a big part in the most successful time the club has had.

Re: Building for next season

With Meite and Novakovich coming back (hopefully) we will have ready made replacements for Mcleary and Mendes who will both be off. Harriott may also be able to prove good as a back up for Barrow, who must be shattered tbh. I don't see the club offloading Edwards or Evans or Kelly. But I can see Jo...

Re: Relegation Watch

I can see Saints and West Brom doing ok, Stoke I'm not so sure about. All depends a lot on who leaves each club in the summer. Plus there's lots of other twists and turns. Wigan and Blackburn will probably be solid midtable outfits (if not high up in the league). I think we need to sign 2 midfielder...

Re: Relegation Watch

And I remember I got laughed at back in October when I said that we could go down. We've been close to the drop even if we do get the points to survive.

Probably just about a fair result in the end. If we can nick a win at Hillsborough next week then we will be pretty much safe

If anyone does decide to take part then you will need to get to the ground by 2.30-2.40 as the group goes in together. On Saturday we met by the beer hut by the east stand.

South Stand Singers For Sunderland (H)

Otherwise pm me with your member card/season ticket number, your name and a contact number. Your ticket would be moved for the gam...

I think if a win Saturday should pretty much see us safe with the run ins some of our rivals face.

I think we will manage 5-7 more points.

Re: BFTG - Preston -Home

Despite the relatively small travelling contingent, I thought our fans were terrific today. Especially at the end. Good to see the club support the fans initiative of allowing a group of vocal supporters into the western side of the south stand. It was actually decent to see and some of the players ...
