Re: CONFIMRED - John Swift

I'm slightly concerned for next season, we saw what the Gold Cup did to G Mac and I'm worried Swift will suffer from burnout too. He's wasn't great in the last few games of the season for me. I trust Jaap will be aware of this and will have enough depth to keep Swifty fresh across the season Not co...

Re: RUMOUR - Cyrus Christie

Confirmed by Smudger as a target. Slightly embarrassing for Talk Reading if he does sign... It's fairly obviously that talkReading has a source inside the club, if there is truth in the rumour (which I believe there is) then the backtracking was probably insisted upon or at least he was fed that we...

Zak Jules to Shrewsbury. New deal rejected so we'll get a fee (compensation or tribunal). http://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/sport/readingfc/15367802.Reading_FC__Zak_Jules_poised_to_join_Shrewsbury_Town_after_rejecting_new_Royals_deal/ ZAK Jules has rejected a new contract with Reading FC and looks ...

Re: Reading on Sky

This is what I was referring to I think. http://www.cityam.com/206210/leeds-united-no-other-football-league-club-has-had-more-live-games-sky-sports-yorkshire Obviously it's outdated but at the time we averaged 416,000 views per televised game, second to only Leeds (477,000) that are currently in our...

Yeah you're right well done, that doesn't change the fact that his position is left back.

Well.. It does.. He doesn't play football anymore so he isn't a left back. Tenses matter.

Re: Sunderland Crap

The irony of people from Sunderland commenting and criticising other areas of the uk. As someone who has been up at uni in the North East for the past 4 years and have gone to watch Sunderland on a couple of occasions, I would just like to say how much I am looking forward to revisiting one of the ...

Re: CONFIMRED - John Swift

Faded a tad I felt. Guilty of giving the ball away cheaply with a few flicks that didn't come off - as the commentator said, they look great when they come off. Was quite close a couple of times to getting a goal from crosses, one which an outstretched leg wasn't enough to make contact, and another ...

Good. Hopefully he can put on a good performance

He's played quite well so far. A good driving run forward and just had a solid 20 + yard shot destined for top corner well saved. Ball retention and distribution decent as well.

Re: Reading on Sky

I think tidus_m2 called it right - it's all about maximising the TV audience, why would Sky care about being fair or giving clubs equal coverage? They've made it clear from week 1 that Villa, Leeds and Sunderland are where their priorities lie. We will get coverage when we play one of those (maybe)...

Jesus Christ that whole article is cringe worthy. I think we've found our north east fellow club that loves a spot of tinpottery.

Re: More possible FIFA fiddling to ruin the game

Keep it the same if nothing else, but ideally I'd call for the opposite of this trend.

Go back to the tolerance of like 25 years ago when you could break someone's leg and only get a yellow.

Tommio wrote:Yeah I'd have him, very different to yann. Also very young. But he will cost far more than £3.8m. For the money he'd cost, I'd rather we spent it on Assombalonga.

Isn't he more of an attacking midfielder than a striker though?

Talk Reading (who are generally pretty reliable) http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/maxwell_smart__confused.gif From what I've seen, they post links to articles/tweets about Reading - and those links may or may not be true - but anything they post without a link to an article ge...

Re: 2017/18 Championship Fixtures

It's obviously too early to gel as undoubtedly some of the teams we expect to do well won't and there will be some surprise packages but the start and run in look pretty tough, especially the latter.

3 London away games before October is sweet though, Fulham away should be fairly warm too 8)

Re: More possible FIFA fiddling to ruin the game

Nah, not buying the anti 60 minutes stuff. Me neither. It makes serious sense to do this and to link it to a law that requires the ball to be out of play before the final whistle is blown. We'd get more football ( see the comment above re the amount of time the ball is currently in play) and there ...

Re: Danny Williams - Huddersfield

I'm a bit surprised that people are taking this so badly, I think half a dozen good performances in the last month of last season are clouding people's judgement. By and large he has been a bit absent throughout his time at Reading - either through injury or by being a bit of a headless chicken. He...
