Portsmouth lost last night. Currently the biggest danger with 47pts from 21 games.

Re: The Non - League thread

5th leg of this season's FA Vase adventure.

Shepshed Dynamo 3-0 NKF Burbage. Their ground is in Butthole Lane

A bruising encounter. Games further north at this level are noticeably way more physical than games in the Hellenic, Wessex etc. If lacking in overall quality.

Re: The Non - League thread

I went to Bristol Manor Farm 1 - 2 Highworth Town on Saturday. Its the closet a train line comes to a football ground. The Bristol TM - Sevenbeach line runs almost down the touchline. there is only enough room for one to stand in front of the railway fence. So there was me, poised with camera in han...

Re: Nations League & Friendlies

For me, best part about the Nations League is proper competive games being played on a home/away basis. Games like England/Spain only happened in friendlies or at neutral venues until now.

Like to see the final stages be home/away as well. A 2 legged England/Holland fnal would be awesome.

Re: SpuROFLs

All media reorts saying Barca qualified. I disagree. Not going to happen, but:

Spurs 3-2 Inter
PSV 3-0 Barca
Inter 3-0 PSV
Barca 0-4 Spurs

HTH cancels out.

= Barca finish 3rd.

Re: The Non - League thread

Bournemouth FC 6-0 Newquay I get the impression Cornish football isnt of the highest standard. Newquay have made a decent start in the South West Pennisula league (Step 6) but looked way below Bournemouth's level (Step 5). Minor Pendant alert : ...I feel you ought to ask Bridport (0-6 v Falmouth) o...

Re: The Non - League thread

Bournemouth FC 6-0 Newquay 3rd game in my FA Vase journey this season and decided to take in a bit of a novelty fixture given that most Cornish sides dont enter the competition. Bit of a novelty ground as well. They have a small park all to themselves with a very secluded entrance. The only other w...

Re: BFT - I don’t know what to call it

The state of some of the comments about the referee. The only thing he got wrong all night was not booking 3 or our players for diving instead of 2. I was in the corner where all 3 took place and called them all simulation straight away. Adrian Williams on BBCRB (with help of replays) said the refer...

Terry Hurlock now works for the RMT (National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers) and in 2007 the Times declared him as the 23rd hardest man in football  THE hardest man in football and probably now the RMT's 'chief whip'. My recollection of him getting sent off at home to Rotherham...

McDermott Championship winning season - No matter the score, you always thought we had a chance of getting something from the game before the final whistle (mostly thanks to supersub Le Fondre) Current team - No matter the score, you are never confident that we will get anything from the game befor...

Re: I think I’m done - just can’t watch this lot anymore

 Yes Ian, I’m sure you have a very big willy, but come on, the point of the post is about how people view this team. In the cold light of the day can you remember a more disfunctional and abject Reading team than this one? You can view it as a narcissistic post if you like but it felt like a w...

Leg 2 on my attempt at a game in every round of the FA Vase. Malmesbury Victoria 3 -1 Virginia Water at The Flying Monk Ground. A cracking step 6 ground set in a lovely small town. Worth a visit if you get the chance, I understand they are looking to move due to flooding issues. Considered going to ...

Unless im being deceived, there seems to be an unusually high number of 0-0 draws in NL this early season, especially down in the lower reaches on the pyramid. I think there were 4 in one weekend for Hellenic Prem sides. Normally its about 1 a month, if that. Might be down to the dry pitches?

Re: Madejski Out

From the year we moved to the Madejski to the year he sold up, we had only one bottom half finish in 15 seasons. The year we finished 18th in the Prem on goal difference. Just think though. What if he'd dug even deeper into his own pocket and invested more into the club. You know, ditched all his pr...

Re: Where have the hardcore gone? Culture loss.

Lots of comments saying things changed when McD was sacked in 2013. That was most definitely the turning point for me. I left that Villa game, his last in charge, thinking this just isn’t my club anymore. The players and manager massively overachieved and they were s real credit to the club. And how...

Re: Where have the hardcore gone? Culture loss.

Much of the longer standing supporters are slowly drifting away, or at least to a lot fewer games. Me included. Everything about the club has changed and its just not the same anymore. Results will return, but the old days will not. Attending football at this level offers very little enjoyment to th...

Re: The Non - League thread

I am attempting to go to a game in every round of the FA Vase this season. Started with Chippenham Park 0 - 4 Bitton on Sunday. Att: 61. Chippenham Park (Step 6) are the development team for Chippenham Town. Basically an U23 set up. They were no match for Bitton from The Western League Premier (Step...
