...for those few of us interested 8) Mangotsfield United 1-2 Winchester City Thatcham Town[/b] 0-1 Yate Town att 226 - Kingfishers finding life back at this level might be far tougher following last season's glorious canter to honours. Up next a dash down the A34 to Winchester City's Simplyhealth G...

Re: The Non - League thread

Far too early to start commenting on table etc. but has anyone been to Maidenhead yet ? Is their slow start down to misfortune and early season mistakes or could they be in for a tough season with 4 relo spots up for grab Yeah think this will be a long, hard season for them. Can see them going down...

Re: Record Watch 2018/19

I always look for teams who are 'chucked in' for the 106. Like Newcastle have been a couple of times.

Sunderland, the team we took the record off, look the only team completely out of sink atm.

FAC Extra Prelim Rnd
Ardley United 7 - 0 Shortwood United.
At: 95

Hosts dominated throughout. Shortwood resigned from Southern League last year and had a team full of kids.

Contender for easiest ground to find. Literally a stones throw from J10 of the M40.

Scours Lane is possibly the worst footballing venue ive ever visisted. Its close between their and Whitehawk. Mind the razor wire and disgarded building materials.

Re: The Non - League thread

Really don't have a problem with Salford. They are building up a football club from virtually nothing. the ex Man Utd lot certainly don't appear to be in it for the publicity. You hardly ever hear from Butt and Scholes who actually come across as quite camera shy. I genuinely think they are doing it...

Re: England’s World Cup Finals 2018

Its amazing the negative stats being thrown around about England. 3 defeats, only beat rubbish. Some people were mentioning that we only has 7 shots on target in the tournament, which was less than Saudi Arabia. I presume that was just made up because we had 6 shots on target in the first 45 mins of...

Re: Best of the World Cup?

Modric getting Golden Ball was a bit bizarre. It was almost like an unlucky loser award.

Mbappe, Pogba, Kante, Hazard all ahead of him in my book.

Re: The Non - League thread

The difference in travel between those two Southern League divisions is a bit daft though. And West looks quite a bit more difficult too. Shame for Fleet, but not sure what else could be done. I think they could have just not replaced Shaw lane and left a gap in their division for one year. Seems t...

Re: The Non - League thread

Apparently the appeals on the reshuffle caused by Shaw Lane’s demise are to be heard on Monday. All strikes me as being a bit late in the day, aren’t the Step 1-4 fixtures usually due out in the first week of July? By the way, when is the equivalent “Rothmans” yearbook for the non league game usual...

Re: The Non - League thread

Promotion must be realistic for Salford surely? They're bookies favourites but I don't understand how? They've just been promoted. There's way better teams in the league in my view; Wrexham, for example. Because they have a far greater budget than anyone else in the division. They will probably hav...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Apparently Real Madrid aren’t exactly in comfort street either. Heard the media mention RM will need to sell in the summer to try and alleviate their debts. Anyone know if that’s just standard media hype or if RM are looking a bit dodgy at the moment. The spanish government will probably bail them ...

Re: The Non - League thread

Now there are 4 divisions at step 3, does that mean the bottom 4 in NLS and the bottom 4 in NLN will be relegated to accommodate 2 promotion places in each Step 3 division? There was talk of there being a "Super play off" at Step 3 so that only 6 teams from theat level went up. A terrible...

Re: The Non - League thread

Cinderford sure to appeal being placed in the EAST division (that must be an error), so maybe Thatcham will go East?

Also the East and Central southern leagues are the wrong way round, whats that all about?

Re: The Non - League thread

Congratulations to Slough Town who scored an 89th minute winner at King’s Lynn today to win the game 2-1 and therefore join the National League South next season. Been a brilliant season for a lot of Berkshire non league sides this season; Slough back into the conference leagues, Maidenhead finishi...

Hartley Wintney set to be promoted, regardless of the result in their play off final v Cambridge City. They are the highest point scorers of all the play off finalists at step 4 and will replace the now defunct Thurrock.

Re: The Non - League thread

Lots of lower placed sides playing away had a good night in the NL play offs, although great home wins for Slough and Hartley Wintney in the SL. Last season, of the 12 NL divisions that have play offs, 10 were won by the team finishing 2nd. The other 2 were won by teams who finished 3rd. I like the...

Both teams need a point for play-offs/stay up. Currently 2/1 with PP. Will be evens by Saturday. Would be 1/3 in any other country.
