Re: Is the idea of a striker flawed? Does Stam believe in total football?

I think his priority was getting more movement and fluidity through midfield. Mendes and Bodvarsson have shown if the supply is good, they know where the goal is. We now have pace and technical ability throughout midfield so whilst he was after a striker, I think securing one would have been the ch...

Re: The 2017/18 season preview/expectation and build up thread

I still can't comprehend how our squad finished 3rd last season. . . . doesn't seem like there's much point me expressing an opinion when I still think that team was cr*p, yet we were a couple of missed penalties away from the Premier League. Don't worry you are far from alone on these pages. Not u...

Re: How many will we sign?

We finished 3rd last season with one decent striker and now we have more. Give me strength, some people are so shortsighted it hurts That would be the polite version. At a guess we've spent at least 3 times more in this window than the club could afford off it's own bat, and to the great credit of ...

Re: CONFIMRED: Sone Aluko

If we get a striker on top of Aluko there won't be any doubt that we are going for it big time, but frankly, I won't be gutted if we don't. These pages are full of people saying players like our latest signing having scored 9 with 10 assists has a poor goals record. :| How many did Swift and McClear...

Oliviera likely to be tomorrow. Transfer has taken longer due to Farke but understand Norwich board taken it out of his hands #readingfc

Re: Lump on Reading to finish top half

Agree our odds seem ridiculously low.

As someone who rarely bets on anything, Sky Bets 66/1 for us to win the thing seemed too good to resist. £100 each way yielding a potential £8k has been placed this evening.

Wow a grown man(baby) more attached to one cheap plastic seat identical to 24000 others, than a particularly neurotic 4 year old is to their blankie. ] Presumably because he's soiled it so much over the years it smells like he does. The levels of over-entitlement and mistaken feelings of superiorit...

If you can't afford it m8 you don't need to make excuses for why you didn't go. I think everyone appreciates even though Berkshire is an affluent area, there may be some like yourself who struggle with the extra expenses football brings. No need to be embarrassed by it. Seriously, £7.00 is one step up from begging :| If you can't be arsed to spend a tenner stay at home. All these people who think they support the club because they sing a few songs yet begrudge putting their hand in their pocket to pay a fair price for a match ticket. Re: EFL Cup third-round draw will take place in Beijing at 04:15 BST on Thursday

Great tie! As long as they open the Upper West and allow us to buy our own seats. If not, I won't be there. Oooooo look at the precious one  Or, look at someone who (and believe me I'm far from alone in the UW) who would happily pay a proper price as opposed to a pathetic £7.00 in order to oc...

Re: RUMOUR - Shane Long (lol)

I'd have been LoLing myself had we not spent £3m on a centre back most Liverpool fans had never seen play, £2m on a keeper plus similar amounts on 3 other players. I don't believe we've done all that without budgeting for a new striker and that was never going to be cheap. Surely we would have kept ...

Re: RUMOUR - Shane Long (lol)

Really don't understand the general LOLing running through this thread. We need a striker, have 2 weeks to find one and it's going to cost us an arm and a leg in wages and/or transfer fees. From the day we were bought by billionaires, neither of the above was ever going to prove an insurmountable ob...

Light years better than Saturday! Having been allocated the front row in the lower section at Loftus Rd, meaning my head was little more than 2ft above the turf, and having spent the best part of 2 decades in the back row of the Upper West, perhaps even Barcelona would have looked crap in my eyes. No matter how anyone tries to spin it this summer has been massively disappointing, we've lost some good first team players and some youngsters like Cooper who we had high hopes for. What we have brought in so far is underwhelming and with no real speculation linking us to proven players at the mom...
