Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

If we are looking for someone to steady the ship and reintroduce a bit pf passion and loyalty to the club then Parky is your man. Taking the club forward to the upper reaches of the LCh and one day beyond, then I would doubt he is the man for that. However, at present, we just need stability, so for...

For those of a certain age ...

https://www.football.london/reading-fc/king-reading-robin-friday-always-15263338 Downloaded on iPlayer, Robin Friday starts at 1:42:00. Nothing we've not heard before, but the spoof commentary at the start had the hairs on the back of my neck standing on end. Hilarious spoof also at 1:54:00 and Law...

Re: Next Reading Manager

Steve Bruce is old school. No interest in the sports science side of things etc. Mick McCarthy is reknowned for getting the best out of very average squads and working with no money, (surely the situation he would inherit if he came to RFC). However, his football "style" is not for the pur...

Re: Is Aluko really that poor?

Do we have a similar situation with Aluko who must have this talent in there somewhere. When the team isn't so shit might he do something spectacular and have his own hand to ear moment,? No, but I can see where you are coming from. Aluko is on a long cushy contract and doesn't give a oxf*rd. Kebe ...

Re: CONFIRMED - Yakou Meite

Is it April 1st at this club????? Jeez I cannot believe what is going on at this club now. A four year deal for an utter donkey??? Staggered, simply staggered. So this means his form, (Ha, what form?!?), will now drop off to zero, a la Moore, Swift et al. All I can say is the Chinese must have a a h...

Re: BFT - I don’t know what to call it

Your stats on Aluko were wrong btw. He only played 5 mins against Brentford, and we got a draw. Woops - rejigged it as I misread the substitution stats for 4 games. Pretty similar PPG though. With Aluko - P43 W9 D13 L21 - PPG - 0.93 Without Aluko - P9 W1 D3 L5 - PPG - 0.66 PPG is misleading. I shou...

Re: BFT - I don’t know what to call it

I have been thinking, (yes OK an oxymoron for me!), long and hard about the current shambles at our club. It seems to me that it is Gourley who is actually picking the team, with Clement merely the fall guy. That can be the only explanation for the continued selection of a number of our highly paid ...

Re: BFT - I don’t know what to call it

Utter utter tripe. Anyone saying that was anything above garbage must have RFC-specs on. The club is dead. The atmosphere is dead. And any team at this level that includes Gunter and Aluko is dead. When fans question where the "old school" in our fans have gone, tonight sums it up. Utter ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Queens Park Rangers (h) sponsored by Michael Meaker

The god awful slow one paced crapola is back. Any coincidence that Gunter and Aluko are back in tandem? What on earth did we expect with them back in the team after a couple of decent performances without them? Aluko MUST simply have a "guaranteed play" clause in his exhorbitant contract....

Re: My first rumour report. Things not well at Reading.

Those who know me will know I may talk my fair share of shit but one thing you'll vouch for is that I've never posted a rumour (I think!), let alone a dud one despite being in a position where I may know some stuff at times. I've sat on this bit of (alleged) info for a long time as I am not enjoyin...

Re: BFTG - Norwich

People talking about league one being a disaster for this club could well be right, but they better start setting their expectations now. There is no way there are three worse teams than this lot. The whole culture of the club from the top down is rotten and its directly reflected on the pitch. No ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by Andy Hughes

So where do we go from here? Seems the senior players don't give a flying oxf*rd about RFC or indeed the manager. Frankly it must be time to use some of the U23's - they could hardly do any worse than the current shower. Clement seems to have a total blind spot when it comes to youth. Sure they will...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Norwich City (h) sponsored by Andy Hughes

Turned it off after Norwich’s 2nd. It told me everything I need to know about this team. oxf*rd the lot of them. There is just no shape or coordination to the side. It resembles an under 10s outfit who all move in incoherent waveforms. Just where is the coaching? Seems they are all earning shed loa...

Just when you thought they couldn't get any worse ....

Must have been so surprised they'd scored they needed a couple of minutes to work out just what had happened.

This "team" really is a laughing stock. Teams must be rubbing their hands waiting to play us.

One word for this so far and it rhymes with trap They're not as bad as me Shirley? Previous poster is correct, worst first 4 league games since joining the FL is D1 L3 in 1928 and 1959. In SL we also had D1 L3 in 1894. Even our 1st ever relegation season in 1909/10 we had a D2 L2 home league start.
