Re: World Cup Punditry

Having asked people, many didn't realise it was on ITV as well. They said BBC1 was the first channel on the tv guide so just watched it on there. Had they realised ITV were showing it, they would have watched ITV. This is so stupid it almost comes back around to being genius, but tbf it just stays ...

Re: World Cup Punditry

So, the world cup final was an actual 2 horse ratings race with both BBC and ITV showing it, I wonder hpw that worked out?

An average 11.4 million people watched from kick-off to final whistle, according to overnight ratings - 8.6 million on BBC One and 2.8 million on ITV.

Don't want to make excuses, the best team probably won tbf, but can anyone explain how Dejan Lovren managed to avoid getting booked twice in the first half?

Re: World Cup Punditry

Why would being top of a list of BBC earners preclude you from suggesting the list should be more diverse? Well lets wait and see what Mr Lineker says. Ooooh, you're one of these types who think "libtard snowflakes" can't have an opinion on anything unless they voice their opinion on all ...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Only remembered yesterday that the PL clubs voted to end the window before the season started this time. Just 29 days left until it SLAMS shut, and it feels like it hasn't really started yet. it's going to go absolutely nuts isn't it?! Madrid with 100 mill to spend (Hazard? Kane? Salah?) is g...

My main issue with that would be that the same people were no doubt laying into Gerrard at the time

I get where that tweet is coming from, I'm just surprised TheSpread hasn't posted it on here already. However, the suggestion that Henderson is some sort of shit player is just more football ignorance frankly.

Re: Club v Country

Exactly, when it comes home on Sunday does that mean nobody who is happy about it will be allowed to have their team win the league? also, if a team has some fans who vote club and some who vote country who gets their way?

It's almost like it's a nonsense

Re: MATCHWATCH : Croatia (n) sponsored by two big badges

I think set pieces will be the key again here. Croatia look like quite a small team - even Russia did them on a set piece. The lovetrain will be all over them. Also, I keep thinking back to when Kane absolutely murdered Lovren last season - so badly that he was taken off before half-time. Let's see...

Crikey! This BBC montage video of the Colombia penalties mixed in with all our other penalty shootout failures over the has just had me crying like a dickhead. The music is England by The National. What’s everyone’s plan for when we win this thing? I’ll probably watch the final with my old man but I’m thinking I’d head into town to join the mental celebrations. Or better still jump on a train and go to London. Trafalgar Square will be buzzing on a scale that Friar Street won’t be able to matc...

Re: England’s World Cup Finals 2018

They just interviewed an England fan out in Samara on breakfast news, making a thing about how he'd taken "days" to get out there. Asked him about his journey and he said "I had to get a flight to Frankfurt then another flight out here" Don't get me wrong, fair fooks, but it's h...
