Re: Season 2018/2019

I'm not worried about us this season actually, for a start we're having a proper pre-season so we actually should be ready for the start of the season this time unlike the shambles of last year. Also with the change in management I doubt we'll have the injury issues we had the last couple of seasons...

Certainly contrasts well with Roberts who decided to milk his contract despite being crocked

I did ask in another thread and I think it was mentioned we might have lost to Farnborough. Now I could get one of the 05/06 programmes out of the attic to confirm but right now I'm not sure.

How was our pre-season in 05/06? I seem to recall it being pretty shit result wise but I may be wrong.

At least the Reading fans on Twitter are having a meltdown over a pre-season friendly.

The thing about Clement not being known for bringing through youth players, he's had two management jobs, it's not exactly a huge sample to go with. Are Derby and Swansea known for producing good youth players?

Re: Fixtures

I still remember the last time we played Birmingham on the last game of the season... Played them on the last day twice in the last 10 years. Reading lost both games. On each occasion though the away side ended up promoted..... Yeah, actually forgot about our away defeat considering it was a dead r...

Re: Ingerlund Vs Tunisia

Unfortunately that plays into Belgium's hands for their game against Tunisia, rather than being dirty little shits, they'll need to chase a win as they'll probably reckon we'll beat Panama and thus will need something against Belgium.

I do feel Ipswich will struggle, I was under the impression that Mick McCarthy always had them pushing above their weight and they will regret sacking him.

Re: Fixtures

Are Birmingham the most northern side in the southern half of the draw? I would never remotely consider them a southern team but I suppose it just shows how many more northern teams there are in the football league. West Brom Yeah, I had a little look myself, Norwich seem to be slightly further Nor...

Re: Rumour - Ronan Curtis

tbh he sounds like a bellend "I'd rather play in League 1" why? Makes sense to me. The jump from LOI to Championship can be difficult, and if it takes a season to get up to speed it's a waste of a year. Go to L1 and he's much more likely to get in the squad straight away. I can see ...

Re: SPECULATION - MOHAMED EISA

Big jump from League 2... I'd want to see evidence of quality over more than two seasons if we want someone to jump two divisions. I'd rather give Nova, Smith, Loader and Bod some faith than pay £1m for a guy off the back of one very good season in L2. STOP POSTING ABOUT THESE PLAYERS - THEY AREN'T...

Re: CONFIMRED - John O’shea signs for Reading

I presume we are still in for Elphick but will only sign him if Moore leaves. I see us therefore starting the new season weaker at centre back if this all pans out. If Moore leaves then that's a given but the upside of selling Moore is that it should allow us to strengthen the team overall. Frankly...
