Re: The half time forkers

You're probably not in it for the pay, tbf, but for the experience. Get a couple of seasons of that under your belt, then you'd be looking at a full time groundsman position. And after that, who knows?

Anecdotally, I know of a couple of head groundsman who started out as forkers.

Re: Madejski Stadium survey

3points Do you consider 20 years to still be a new stadium? Many people on here probably never even went to Elm Park

TBF I didn't think anyone had joined this portal in at least the last decade.

Probably more about washing up than safety No, they are the re-useable perspex type and they only switch to them a couple of hours before kickoff on a football day. Clearly they think wine drinkers don't have a tendency towards violence whereas beer drinkers do! They clearly haven’t met my other ha...

There must be tough days too though. Drainage issues, looking at the weather forecast with dread.

Re: New beefeater

Not having a pub near the ground is such a huge missed opportunity. You could make a killing - why has no one done it? Because a pub needs trade more than 23 afternoons/evenings a year . . . . ^this, always this. I think you'd be surprised. I was chatting to the former landlord at Jagz, Ascot the o...

Sebastian the Red
John Smith Would a brief stint in League One be the answer?

I'd actually come back for the first time in 3 or 4 years if we're relegated

I think I could probably stretch to a micropub tour of the Medway towns before Gillingham away.

Re: Owners Xmas raffle

Assuming the winners are happy for their details to be published, and have given consent to that effect. One hapless betting firm I worked at did a million pound big prize promo - which was basically to generate publicity when the prize was won. However they didn't put it in the T&Cs that you ha...

Silver Fox Considering football isn’t played over calendar years this is all pretty pointless isn’t it?

Quite, and frankly any time period would do if you want to show Reading are having a torrid time of things.

Re: Rotherham away Saturday December 15th

Yeah. It's too expensive from Reading. Luckily I live in London. I can understand why QPR took 1000 to Preston and we took less than 300. London is so well connected and cheaper to travel from. Just two hours to Wigan and Preston and can be done for £50. Rotherham just over 2 hours. From Reading it...
