Whether it's to everyones taste or not, it brought us success last year

That's not my definition of success, and I hope the team didn't view it as success either.

Good grief

Started with no striker upfront then lost our two most creative players, away from home

Why are you surprised?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Preston North End (a) sponsored by the first long trek of the season

Isn't this going well. Away form is a real concern. Damage limit8ion today maybe? Disagree. If we lose this it's 2 away games on the bounce, not sure how you can say our form is bad. I posted in another thread that before today we had won 42% (41.6) of all our away league games under Stam. We...

Re: The generic transfer thread

Liverpool reject £114M bid for Coutinho from Barca W.T.A.F?? football has lost its marbles £118M according to 'sources' on twitter. That's a lot of money for a player who no longer wants to be at Liverpool. I think they should have cashed it in for a new keeper and 2 CBs Indeed, if there's one thin...

Re: The Stam passing game

In general I like it, but the lack of pace and urgency in the side caused big problems last year and was a reason it drew criticism. When it's bad, it can be excruciating and I totally understand why some people are not fans of it. I think last season, when we were in sticky situations, the team sho...

Re: Rumour: Sone Aluko

Stam said last night that he's still looking to bring in a striker, a defender and another midfielder. What actually happens of course may bear no resemblance to that and no doubt Reading will still be waiting for a striker going into the last day of the transfer window. Personally can't see any po...

Re: Food vans

Got to the ground at 7:50 last night because of traffic, and as I was making my way round to the East Stand there were still huge queues for the vans

Beats me why you would still choose to be in the queue just before kick off, but to each their own

Re: BFTG - Villa

I enjoyed the Villa fans last night tbf. Not sure about that Kumbaya song, but it worked when their whole end sang it. Very open to the comeback which our fans did well. Don't fancy they will be too buoyant this year with the shambles they have on the pitch. They look even on paper well below the s...

Re: BFTG - Villa

Other than that misjudgment I thought the Villa fans were on pretty decent form, considering the absolute pile of guff they look like they're going to have to deal with this year Very good first half, silent in the second until their goal back. But that's understandable. Villa fans at full pelt is ...

Re: BFTG - Villa

Only Green looked decent, but he missed their best chance after a couple of mins. Thought he was poor myself. Decent and semi-threatening on the ball, but complete lack of end of product. I think he shanked a few crosses, and scuffed a couple of shots in decent positions. That's not even counting t...
