Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

i.e Aluko's wages for 2 weeks. It's not an inconsequential amount but it isn't make or break and if successful could attract additional home fans. Not to mention the effect a full away stand has on results on the pitch - if any impact whatsoever, the difference could be millions. I would agree with...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

That is incredible. Not to mention the programmes, food and beer every match aswell. The likes of Millwall and Leeds would easily spend £20 per head on just beer and pies alone. From memory I don't recall that many teams filling the entire South Stand - maybe more like 6 o 7? The below article sugg...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

There's no decision to make, it was made months ago. The club has sold season tickets there. They're committed for the season. Personally I think that’s a mistake. I would have thought the club should have been more flexible and suggested a three month trial at the start of this season with a view ...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Some basic rushed numbers that are probably completely wrong because it's Monday morning, but whatever 2,175 (half the south stand capacity) x £20 we charge for away tickets = £43,500 per game x 23 home games = £1,000,500 lost over the course of the season IF every away team sell out the South Stand...

Logging in after the match to see Double D has reverted to type on the match threads, and is acting like the prize helmet we all know Anyway, good win - backs to the wall stuff and rode our luck. Superb from Jaakkola and Blackett should start more games. Hopefully we'll kick on - bit of a gap to 18...

No not at all. Everything I have said is a fact. It tends to be that when people disagree with you because purely because they think they will curry favour with other board members they will just label someone as "stupid" or claim they don't know what they are talking about. Sadly for the...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Millwall (h) sponsored by Terry Hurlock

I don’t know. Maybe there will be goals. Maybe Reading will play really well but lose heroically. Maybe they’ll be pants and lose. Unheroically. Maybe a unicorn will land of the pitch. Maybe Dave Edwards is still alive. Who knows? All bets are off. Storm clouds, dark omens, dire predictions; all sw...

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

Wait, are we saying people would rather stay at Lincoln than come to an established 2nd tier club? Right  He rejected Ipswich Thank you KentRoyal! Ipswich are about as established in the 2nd tier as it gets but he chose to stay an Lincoln. To him it is about football and not money. He was favo...

They aren't facts OMA, you are making observations based on limited knowledge and conjecture, dressing them up as facts, and making absolute statements.

In other words, stop being a massive jessie.

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

That's a whole load of assumption. I'm not really sure how you can be so categorical about a bunch of stuff you have absolutely no inside knowledge on, but then you often take that line when you argue with people. Danny Cowley would probably consider a move up two divisions to Reading if Clement got...

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

When you use phrases such as "the club is on life support" and "relegated into oblivion" and making claims that a manager of a League Two club wouldn't be interested in coming to an established Championship club with far more resource, then you are being a bit hysterical and coul...

Yes football expert. One club is on the rise and the other has a very good chance of being relegated into oblivion.

I think you need to go and have a lie down.

Re: Rumour - Phil Parkinson

The whole "destroying his legacy" thing is nonsense anyway.

It doesn't change what he did as a player for us. In fact, McDermott 2.0 doesn't change the fact Brian is a club legend because of McDermott 1.0.

Seems silly to think that it would.
