Re: South Stand Singers For Sunderland (H)

It's a sad indictment of where the club's fan base is that we have to have an organised positive atmosphere section. Palace, Huddersfield, Real Madrid, a LOT of German clubs... all have organised atmosphere sections. Man Utd talked about having one. Other clubs try different things to improve the a...

Presumably the same way they do it whenever they fully open up the South Stand to RFC supporters. Barrier I guess.

Re: South Stand Singers For Sunderland (H)

Not that I'd ever suggest this personally but it could be suggested by others that a lot of the people in the group only took part to get special attention like this. They wanted to be made to feel special and look like real fans in front of the players. Others could suggest this group are complete...

The players certainly approve. Liam Moore has paid for coach travel for the original 50 to Sheffield Wednesday https://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/2018/april/moore-pays-for-fifty-fans-coach-travel/ Not that I'd ever suggest this personally but it could be suggested by others that a lot of the people i...

Re: Ups & Downs 2017/18

It's unlikely but it can happen, but with Southampton and not Stoke.

Looking a Southampton's fixture list, if they nick a result on Thursday then I think they will fancy themselves to get a couple more results before the end of the season.

Re: Ups & Downs 2017/18

Just looking at the PL run-ins. I don't think Brighton are safe... Since beating Arsenal, they've lost 4 out of the last 5 (the other being a 1-1 draw with Huddersfield) and their run-in looks like this: Tottenham (H) Burnley (A) Manchester United (H) Manchester City (A) Liverpool (A) The most winna...

Re: Building for next season

Dack is a good player but no water-carrier. Swift should already be capable of playing in a similar position to him. We need a strong mobile defensively minded CM who can win the ball and get play moving quickly. Like... Danny Williams :x Except Williams wasn't that good at winning the ball and the...

Re: Relegation Watch

I'm very impressed that the pearl grabbers who have realised that we'll probably be fine this year have already transferred their panic over to the next campaign, brilliant stuff Despite our struggles this season, I actually don't think we need wholesale changes (given we do stay up). We need a str...

Re: VAR

Half-time during Mainz vs Freiburg. Ref blows the whistle, players go back to their dressing rooms. Ref then consults VAR for a handball in the last action of the half. He then decides to give a penalty, calls the players back out, the penalty is scored and the players go back down the tunnel

Re: Relegation Watch

You're reminding me of the glory of the second half of 2015/16.

Hit a bad patch of form meaning promotion was no longer on the cards, and all the loanees mentally checked out. The rest of that season was dire, even the FA Cup run wasn't that fun.

Re: South Stand Singers For Sunderland (H)

Have you noticed how there's been almost no piss-taking from opposition fans over this? Usually if we do something utterly tinpot, the opposition fans are all over it like a fly on shit. Haven't seen anything. Seems like it's only Reading fans who find this embarrassing. Why though? I dont see them...
