Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

I just saw that Ashley Cole has joined Derby. I know people are going to disagree - but that's exactly the sort of signing we should have made. If he's fit enough for Derby for half a season then he would have been a excellent cover at left-back until Obita returns. He might have also added some co...

Re: BFTG Derby (A)

Another game where we showed that we clearly need a new left-back. That should be our priority over everything else - even a striker.

It really was a wasted summer transfer window. Lets try and get this one right. Just dig deep and pay the £6-7m we need to.

I really enjoyed the second half. Aluko definitely made a difference.

Re: Confirmed Lewis Baker on Loan

For a second I saw the name 'Baker' and thought it was going to be Nathan Baker - that would have been a great signing for us . . .

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

Yup live. Yep, and better if you sign up for iFollow early in pre-season for the whole season. It's more cost effective than paying on a game by game basis. I'm never quite sure where I'm going to be, so I just do the season long iFollow thing, and then when I'm in UK I just go to the games home or...

Re: BFTG United (A)

I would put it like this: I enjoyed most of the United game in a way that I haven't enjoyed a Reading game in a long time. I thought that we played exciting football, that we fought hard given the opponents and that we ended the match with a lot of respect. Defenders looked a bit clueless at times, ...

Re: BFTG United (A)

I agreed that we looked like a team that has the skill and pace to become a real attacking force. But then it's hard to know how much of that is 'real'; we were playing against a completely make-shift team that was happy to let us have the ball and run as they knew that they could take us apart at t...

Re: Worth a flutter?

33/1 at Bet 365 for Reading to win - surely ridiculous odds for a two horse race. Also, remember it will be Man United B vs Rejuvinated Reading. There is also the effect of the shackles of the league relegation battle being released meaning players will be less likely to cut-out the silly errors. F...

Re: Are we really going down this season

Not sure if it will make much difference to us - but Brum are almost certainly getting a large points deduction:

Re: Are we really going down this season

Had it on good authority (albeit 2nd hand) that 7 players have been released this morning. Sorry I have no names, merely that number. Probably pretty easy to make an educated guess. I would have thought there would have been more than that, but maybe more will follow as the window develops? https:/...

Re: January Outs

More likely we'll sell Moore, Yiadom, Rinomotha and Loader for undisclosed fees and use the money to bring in Glen Johnson on a 5 year, £50k a week package. . . . .

Re: Are we really going down this season

Not sure if this has been posted but fairly decent article from the Guardian (written pre-Swansea) https://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2019/jan/01/reading-turn-of-year-change-of-fortune The article talks more of Reading getting 'back into the Premier League' than it does the threat of relegat...

Re: Are we really going down this season

This is no longer a football club, it hasn't been for a while. Instead, we are a fully fledged business. Since the Thais, and probably before, RFC has been a vehicle for making money with the notion of being a football club completely secondary and of little interest to those at the top of the pyra...
