Re: Away day travel

Is our away support really less than other similar clubs?

Re: Stop explicit language in the ground...

id just like to say, if th eclub are reading this, that I would welcome an M&S food hall in the concourse An M&S food hall would be great. I'd much rather pay £4 for a sandwich and bottle of drink than had over half my salary to the greasy burger truck. can you not just buy this in the way ...

Re: Stop explicit language in the ground...

I'm scared of where all this is going to end. Salad and healthy options to replace pies and burgers, or perhaps replaced by an m and s food shop, no alchoholic drinks for sale in the concourse. Can we hand back the keys and start football again somewhere else? id just like to say, if th eclub are r...

Re: The 2017/18 season preview/expectation and build up thread

I still can't comprehend how our squad finished 3rd last season. . . . doesn't seem like there's much point me expressing an opinion when I still think that team was cr*p, yet we were a couple of missed penalties away from the Premier League. Don't worry you are far from alone on these pages. Not u...

Re: Stop explicit language in the ground...

I've no problem with a bit of aggressive swearing and calling the referee a w*nker.

The homophobic stuff needs to be as unacceptable as racist chants though.

Re: Barnsley Home Postponed

I found it a bit hypocritical how much the club is expressing it's 'disappointment'. They would happy change a match date at short notice if they thought the club could make an extra £20 out of the tie.

Re: Our Strongest Championship side??

On paper we now have a squad that should by right be competitive towards the top end of the table, but no one has any right to win anything, and as others have eluded to, it's up to Stam and the back room staff to get the most out of them and get them playing well to yield good results. The defence...

Re: Lump on Reading to finish top half

Currently 66/1 with Sky Bet to win the league, paying 4 places each way. Just silly odds and they will tumble when these new signings come in. Even PNE are better odds than us. All based on their algorithms. Definitely worth a few £ ew. The same PNE that beat us a couple of weeks ago? It seems very...

Re: Back from Extra-Time (Millwall)

Just reading elsewhere that someone thought this a boring game. I really enjoyed it. There were plenty of very good performances, a few moments of brilliance, some moves that were a joy to watch. Bacuna is classy and should soon establish himself as a starter in midfield. Apart from one moment, he ...

Re: EFL Cup third-round draw will take place in Beijing at 04:15 BST on Thursday

Nextdrawisjust straightforward isn't it ? No seeding, no regiolisation, no clubs requesting away draws. Agree that where and when the draw is made makes no odds. It'll be on a website when we wake up. Having the FA cup draw on TV at 5 pm on Saturday after each round is a tradition that should not b...

Re: Birmingham Away 26/08

According to Twitter, we've only sold 500. Absolute shambles. £20 and 2 hours away. If true that is embarrassing tbf. Didn't you get the memo? Football is just entertainment now, the same as going to see a film at the cinema. Who wants to go to Brum to watch us play boring football and probably los...

Re: The Stam passing game

I know it had many critics, but I enjoyed how we played under McDermott. McAnuff and Kebe bombing down the wings, swinging balls into the box, Leigertwood taking regular pot shots, Long playing off the last man. Our defence wasn't great but we somehow keep the goals tally down.

Re: Post Game Traffic

Something was odd on Tuesday night; I did my usual drive back from the World Turned Upside Down and when I got to the 'Tesco roundabout' there was absolutely no traffic. First time in the 6 years i've been going that i've been able to drive straight through to the junction. I was back home by 10:30!

Re: Jazz Cafe beer

The Jazz Cafe excelled themselves last night. Ordered a pint of Amstel. I sat down, quite surprised at how fizzy it looked. I took a sip, and it had a horrible sweet taste to it. I had a second sip, and realised it was cider. I took it back, and the girl behind the bar insisted that she'd poured fr...

Absolutely wonderful stuff. If you pack your own sandwiches and pick up some tins I think it could be done for under £50! Have a good one! Cheers now how far is the ground from New street? 10-15 min walk my friend. (Don't get the bus it takes ages). 10 mins if you're Mo Farah maybe . . . . It's a '...

Re: Food vans

I noticed the queuing issue last night - not sure what's going on there. Had to go to the pulled pork van for my £2.40 bottle of water. Pork baguette 7 quid FYI I always thought a jacket potato van might do a good business up there. The healthier, middle-class option, if you will. Anyone willing to...

Re: Food vans

The answer to why the food vans are so bad is that RFC charge them so much to be there that the only way they can make a profit is by selling cr*p at inflated prices.

The club should reduce the fees so we can go back to having some good old traditional Berkshire food - like mama used to make.

Re: BFTG - Villa

Enjoyed the game and the performance. Though we were really only one half decent free-kick away from villa getting the draw - which given how badly they played would have been been a warning sign for us. If we've learnt anything in the last 4 days is that we need to either be more ruthless when we a...

Also - you can park for free in the car park at the recreation ground off basingstoke road. You do need to get there about 45 mins before kick off though to make sure of a place.
