At home. And yes, Arsenal follows Newcastle. They've played all their big away games, with the exception of a trip to Old Trafford, coincidentally the same as Liverpool. United could have a say in this race yet.....

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Yeah, Liverpool need to keep winning. This run of fixtures came at the right time for City - Rotherham, Burton, Wolves, Huddersfield, Burton, Burnley, Newcastle.

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

Bit of a 'proper' one this. Villereal defender Ruben Semedo has been charged with attempted murder  - alleged to have been one of two who tied a man up, beat him with baseball bats and threatened him with a gun, before shooting at him (and missing) as he tried to escape. We're currently bein...

Only Rotherham and Burton, but there can't be many teams in recent times who have scored 16 goals in two games, like what you saw.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Alcacer is still doing the super sub thing and has only played a total of 468 minutes (just over 5 games) Yeah, it's a little silly. He's played a bit more than that, 768 minutes total across the Bundesliga and Champions League. But his record when starting is 2 goals in 491 minutes (a goal every 2...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46807185 Daniel Levy announces that Spurs new stadium will not be ready until 'at least March'. Which probably means next season now. After all this is sorted it will be interesting to find out exactly what has caused the delays - the club has been inviting the m...

Re: Weekend Football

Still don't get the fuss. This is a mindset thing, it's nothing to do with the technology, which predominantly works well. VAR should be used to overturn obvious errors. Whatever the decision on the pitch, VAR isn't there to make a different subjective decision. Has a referee given a penalty where i...

Re: Weekend Football

This. The problem with VAR remains the way in which it is used and fans' understanding of what decisions will be overturned and when, not the technology and the decisions made. Another example is the two minutes that the ref in the United v Reading game spent standing motionless with his hand to hi...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

I only watched the first 45 last night, but how bad was Sturridge? He was, wasn't he. In fact that he kind find a new club says it isn't just Klopp's style that he doesn't suit. The days of a poacher who coasts around doing little else are long gone. His career beginning to look like a poor one, pu...

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

Not football related but I saw via BBC Sport that there's an Aussie cricketer who's at Worcester who's getting done for rape under similar circumstances, albeit perhaps worse, to Ched Evans. Football being football, and cricket being cricket, I've not seen a load of debate and news coverage of the ...

Not a footballer as such, but Kit Carson, former youth coach and scout, was due to start his trial yesterday for alleged sexual abuse of boys over decades. Carson's car, however, was involved in an accident just 16 minutes before his trial was to get underway, and he was pronounced dead at the scene...

Re: The footballer gets arrested thread

Yesterday evening I had a meal with my team mates and we had a group photograph. I waved and shouted at the person taking the picture to get on with it and at the same time put my hand over my mouth to make the sound carry. It’s been brought to my attention that frozen in a moment by the camera thi...

Re: Weekend Football

Didn't the ref originally give the pen? If so, for it to be reversed there needs to be a clear error seen, as there was contact, however minimal, the VAR ref couldn't overturn it. This. The problem with VAR remains the way in which it is used and fans' understanding of what decisions will be overtu...

Re: Weekend Football

Absolute joke of a VAR decision in the Fulham-Oldham game. Thankfully it was missed, but how the hell the VAR ref saw that as a foul is mystifying. There was the slightest graze of a touch and then the Fulham player clearly dived. Didn't the ref originally give the pen? If so, for it to be reversed...

Deserved win for City on balance - better going forward and Liverpool's midfield struggled before the introduction of Fabinho. Kompany's tackle will be a red some days, and a yellow others. Right on the line, and he got lucky. Let's see now how Liverpool react - their next five league games are Bri...

Talk about getting better with age - Billy Sharp, now 32, scored his 16th league goal of the season Yes saw this - what a class act - I immediately thought why didn't it work for him with us? Same old story with every 'proven' striker we've brought in (file under Vydra, Grabban, Martin). Yeah, I wa...
