Re: England - the future....

I'm as big a fan of Southgate as anyone, but I really am beginning to think that Jordan Henderson has pictures of the boss naked with a farm animal, or something. Good to see Branthwaite in the squad, but Harvey Elliott can feel harshly overlooked. Mainoo arguably too, given how many injuries we have.

Re: Weekend Football

Oh, Luton Town, what have you done? 3-0 up at half-time at Bournemouth, the Cherries now lead 4-3 in injury time. Hold on and they'll become just the fifth team in the PL era, and first in 20 years, to win from 3-0 down.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Not Europe, but in Saudi Arabia, Al-Hilal have broken a global football record, recording their 28th consecutive victory, passing the record of 27 held by TNS in Wales since 2017.

Truly dominant team - 24 of those 28 victories have been by two goals or more.

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/mar/12/champions-league-draw-to-be-made-by-computer-due-to-complex-new-format New Champions League format is so complex that the draw will be made by a computer, as doing so manually would take four hours. Whilst teams will all start in the same 'league' in ...

I just learned that Tino Livramento is from Croydon and has played for England under 21's Prior to this season had a year out with an ACL tear. Originally Chelsea academy player. Re: Weekend Football

Perhaps the most unnoticed element of Arsenal's form is their defence. Just four goals conceded in their last eight, and one of those Ramsdale's error, one an own goal.

Re: Weekend Football

Beginning to feel like when, not if, Southgate gives Quansah a call-up. Immense again yesterday. Bizarre to think he was playing for Bristol Rovers last season, and by most accounts, not setting the world alight.

Elliott's terrific form continued - he must be an outside bet for the Euros squad.

Re: Weekend Football

We do have a cracking title race, don't we? It's a shame that race is now curtailed by an international break. Three weeks until teams play again. Obviously best result for Liverpool at the Etihad is a draw. They could be top again if they can beat Brighton at home. Spurs are going to have a massiv...

Re: Weekend Football

Aside from the obviously crap officiating - that performance by Endo at 6 for Liverpool is one of the best in recent memory. Outstanding from start to finish. Calm, composed. As languid around the pitch as a short Japanese guy can ever look. He can tackle hard, too.

Re: Weekend Football

Terrific game. Another day, Liverpool win 3 or 4-1. Another day, City nick it and Doku's shot goes in off the post.

But that was a penalty. Every time. Appalling refereeing.

I'd counter the supposed usefulness of the 'scanning' stat anecdotally. 'In my playing days' I spent a lot of time looking around having no clue what was going on at all.

'pparently the 3.45pm this Sunday is a police request. Not sure how that 45 minutes makes the game that much easier to deal with.

Re: Embargos, HMRC Payment defaults, non payment of wages, the usual under Dai Wrongge

Meaning no disrespect to good intentions, but I think there is next to zero chance that the local economy could raise anything like the money needed to make a difference at RFC even for a month, nevermind the longer term.

We're nearly there. Leicester need to win at least eight of their remaining ten games. Seven wins and they can only reach a max 105 points.

Quincy Promes is hiding in Russia, and in the short-term might avoid jail, despite being handed an 18-month prison sentence for stabbing his brother at a party. Russia won't extradite him. Promes is also now on trial for his part in a cocaine smuggling ring, and prosecutors, in his absence from the...
