Re: The Football League Thread 18/19

Derby's 20 goals scored that season is also the second lowest ever (Loughborough, 18). Perhaps what is most remarkable about Macclesfield's run is that they haven't been that awful. As above, they have 'only' conceded 66 goals in those 36 games. Incredibly, they've only lost by 3 goals or more twice...

Re: The Football League Thread 18/19

Macclesfield equal the British League record of 36 games in the league without a win matching Derbys record from their abject 07-08 season. They haven't won a league game since 2012. Impressive record. Their last football league win was 31 December 2011 at home to Port Vale (and that was their firs...

Well, he's unproven. I don't think his analyses as a pundit on Sky ever seem particularly insightful, although he is certainly forthright in his opinions. Will be interesting how he transitions to becoming the boss.

Re: England - the future....

I thought England were pretty decent on Friday. We could easily have had a 2-0 win had Rashford not been so wasteful. Seen a few negative assessments in the press but I was happy with our display. Have to agree with this - but then it seems the press are taking a while to catch up with (in general)...

Re: England - the future....

There's a difference between an exiled Reading FC supporter and someone who goes and "watches most Fulham games". Seriously wtf? M9, I haven't 'supported' Reading for years, if ever, I'm just a casual fan. Only really went regularly in at Elm Park, and then in League One at the Madejski. ...

Re: England - the future....

Meanwhile, back on the topic of the thread... There's some suggestion that Southgate may try a different formation this evening. The implication being that it'll be a flat back 4 with 3 upfront (Rashford, Kane and Sterling). I've seen a few suggestions that that will also mean a midfield 3 of Dier,...

Pathetic. Don't post on here anymore. Take Ascotexgunner with you. Just because you do not watch Reading sometimes does not mean you are not a fan. What if you live abroad or work on weekends or live far away? There's a difference between an exiled Reading FC supporter and someone who goes and &quo...

Re: The Football League Thread 18/19

Good little read this. https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/oct/12/the-forgotten-story-of-luton-town-manager-idol Luton Town's 'Manager Idol' - when the club's new owners decided to get people to vote for the club's next manager. “We will appoint Mike Newell regardless of the telephone poll,” G...

Ah.

Well now we've uncovered the (not so) closet Fulham fan on here. Does anyone actually support Reading on this Reading FC forum? What a joke.

Just a football fan really m9. I haven't been to a Reading match for two years.

Re: England - the future....

You have no clue what you are talking about sadly, shame really as you're better than that. Pretty sure you saw my analysis of Bettinelli as 100% accurate when Fulham played Arsenal, Sergio Rico will be playing very soon and Bettinelli will be 2nd or 3rd choice. When that happens I will be expectin...

Re: England - the future....

No offence but I will judge him on what I can see with my eyes rather than someone who has bought blindly into the hype surrounding him. He is a kid playing in a mans league, it is too big for him. Maybe he needs a season in the Bundesliga or something like that, like Lookman did. After your brilli...

Re: England - the future....

Yeah he looks like a kid playing with adults in the Premier League, he clearly believed his own hype. Taking on Eric Lichaj is a different world to taking on the likes of Kyle Walker and Kieran Trippier, needs to work way harder. Rubbish. As per our discussion on Bettinelli, I'm around Fulham a lot...

Plays for Spain for the first time since March 2016, and of course Alcacer scores twice. That's 9 goals in 244 minutes this season.

Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Paco Alcacer top scorer in the bundesliga so far this season despite not starting a game 6 goals in 81 minutes of substitute appearances One hell of a message to Barcelona, who is left to get game time. Those 6 goals included a hat-trick as a second half sub last week, including a 96th minute free-...

Hadn't realised that the game in Croatia on Friday is being played behind closed doors, as punishment for the Croatian pitch being marked with a swastika before a game with Italy in 2016. That Italy game was itself being played with no fans in attendance for previous racist chanting. Televised thou...
