Re: BFTG - Aston Villa (A)

After the Blackburn game (watched, no sound), another away point should be welcomed. While there were ropey moments and spells, the last spell from Baldock's miss to the penalty had enough guts in it, and the basics done right, to suggest that maybe we'll be mediocre and avoid a relegation fight. Bu...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Aston Villa (a) sponsored by hoping it's 1959/1960 all over again

Villa are annoying me. They’re meant to be facing a tough financial situation

New owners and now no longer in as bad a situation

A respectable performance, not too much damage to the GD and no injuries to our better players would be a reasonable outcome.

away tie in Somalia?

how.about.no.

Anyway, Cayman Islands went about five years without playing a game, so now they've actually entered something this year, it might be their year.

Re: League Cup 2nd round draw

I ventured into the centre of Milton Keyenes after the game. Confusing, odd and robotic place. I got the impression all of the residents are there as a result of a science experiment, all of them were formed in test tubes I'm sure of it. The only redeeming feature is going around spotting locations...

Nope.

Although there is a photo of me in the kit on the old interwebs. If you're stuck, Keith McPherson is the one on the left.

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

The problem is, the only people who suffer for any real penalty is the fans. The owners responsible can just sell on, they've usually achieved their goal of washing money anyway. The players get paid regardless and have likely moved on. Short of kicking a team out the league - only the fans lose - ...

This game?

Err, there's a fair few Derby fans drink in and around the JQ. So, really, don't be shit. People are watching.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h) sponsored by a new hope

Is anyone else really not up for this shit yet? Just walking into this season with the feeling of not being arsed or invested. Can't remember feeling this way before. World Cup hangover. Must be the shortest period of time I can recall between a World Cup Final and first game, 19 days I think. Simp...

second leg is on BT sports

fairly sure this is the sort of thing BBC2 or channel 5 used to pick up, remember watching endless Aston Villa InterToto games a few years back.

Re: The Non - League thread

I believe FCUnited don't just throw cash on the playing budget so haven't risen any higher at a level where a few sides do. Is what Salford are doing any different to the Burton's or Fleetwood's of the world? But with far more flack. That said I wonder what the old school Salford fans make of it al...

I was thinking off and on that Birmingham doesn't appear to have a central non-league side. Perhaps due to the four league clubs in the area, but I tell you what, a proper little club in the Jewellery Quarter would be lovely.

Re: The Non - League thread

FCUM have plateaued out somewhat at midtable National League North level, having got promoted there in 2015. That said, after the cup run of 2010ish, they hovered around the play offs of the league below for a few seasons, and its (famously) tough to get promoted from that level. If I have it right,...

Having watched a fair few world cup DVDs these last months, someone needs to resurrect the collars on the 82 cameroon kit.
