Re: SPECULATION - Danny Williams

Old Man Andrews He's made of glass.

He's been playing Premier League football for two years.

He's better than us.

We can't afford him.

Is that new chant? What's it to the tune of?

Re: Chelsea transfer ban and our loanees

Snowflake Royal Chelsea can have Baker back as far as I'm concerned.

I like his energy. He's vocal. But I can see him being a stop gap signing and unlikely to be a high priority.

Re: Chelsea transfer ban and our loanees

Interestingly I put up a similar thread before we loaned Miazga asking if there were any Chelsea players we should look at in the wake of this news.

Nobody suggested Miazga.

Re: Danny Williams

No thanks. A good player that doesn't combine with others to be better than the sum of their parts. Too prone to go head down and run into a cul de sac. Doesn't fit the passing philosophy of Gomes. Plus he's now 30 and entering the end stages of his career. He'll want to maximise income and is comi...

Re: PoTS

That time of year again and I've seen it mentioned on the injury thread so thought I'd separate it onto it's own thread so we all know where it is 8) Can't really see beyond the three names below myself ⋅ Yiadom ⋅ Rino ⋅ Meite Can/could we include the loanees though? N...

Re: Nine Very Difficult Games - Predictions?

Hound I think he's grown :)

He posed for a pic with my kids, nice guy that he is. Definitely bigger than 5ft 8. Looking at the pic he is a bit shorter than Osho and McIntyre, so guessing 5ft11-6ft

Maybe he's one of those people who looks taller than he is? Like Mike Tyson. Or maybe your kids have shrunk?

Re: Nine Very Difficult Games - Predictions?

Well yeah - we signed O Shea (6ft 3), Meyler (6ft 2), Ezatolahi (6ft 2), Walker (6ft 7), gave Meite (6ft 1?) a long contract and signed an aggressive FB in Yiadom. This to add to first teamers Jaakkola, Moore, Ilori, Blackett, Bodvarsson who all above 6ft. From standing near Rino I’m guessing he is...

Re: Ex Players

Sean Morrison? Not sure where Piazon/Oxford are Bacuna :D Morrison always felt like the one that got away to me. He always seemed like a good player and he was just coming good and we let him go to Cardiff. I would give my left arm for a centre back like that to still be playing for us. Mapps was p...

Re: Ex Players

For no reason whatsoever (except having too much time on my hands), I looked at the possibility of creating a full team of ex-Reading players (including loanees) from the current Premiere League squads. I make no claims of greatness for this side but here is what I came up with. Can you do better? ...

Re: BFTG Leeds Home

Anyone know why Swift was booked last night on 82 minutes? I'd switched off long before then. No mention made in any report I can find. Thanks in advance. When I saw it it I thought it was because he was spoken to twice before about fouling and had just fouled again in a similar manner to the first...

Re: BFTG Leeds Home

I've thought some more about the game and what we may need to do going forward and I think we can all agree that, where possible, that back 5 should not change. Tim said several times last week and yesterday that Gomes should put Blackett in as a DM. Whilst I could see Blackett being reasonable ther...

Re: BFTG Leeds Home

They looked really quite good. I notice not once did our commentators suggest Leeds could do with a holding midfielder. Obviously Leeds are a lot better at a possession based style of football than we are or indeed have been but it's amazing to me that they both scoff at the idea of a Reading team ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Leeds United (h) sponsored by Brian McDermott

Leeds have looked really good in that first half. Confident and clinical. We are actually not too bad on the ball but have no answers to them when off the ball. No shame in losing to a team playing like that. Let's go out and try to shorten that goal difference.
