Re: Play off final merchandise

It's not that surprising considering we'll be changing the kit in the summer. They'd hardly order a few thousand more shirts, knowing they'd be stuck with any they didn't shift.

Re: Programme this season

I think half of the problem with the programme is that it's too thick. It's seems like they decided it needed to be 84 pages without thinking whether they had enough to fill those pages.

Trim it down to 50-60 pages, cut out the fluff written to fill it out, and knock the price down.

Re: Programme this season

I'm still trying to find out why there was a full page advert for Eurocake when it cannot to my knowledge be bought here and programme readers will only be local. Football adverts can be baffling. I wonder how many fans have been lured into impulsively buying a girder or two after seeing a Rainham ...

Re: Drummer quits

The problem with being a drummer is that you probably damage your hearing and go deaf, This does not help when it comes to hearing chants/songs that others are singing and as a result you bang bang bang at the wrong time. The sensible drummer would have earplugs to protect their ears but that makes...

You have to wonder what's the world coming to when glory-hunting bandwagon-jumpers who don't even support the club can't even be bothered to buy play-off final tickets.

Re: The Forgotten

Anybody Remember Steve Archibald's one game for the club? He sort of scored. His shot was going in, only for Trevor Senior to poke it in from about a foot out. Paul Franklin's career at Reading won't be remembered fondly by many. Aaron Giamattei won't be remembered by many at all. I think his only a...

Re: Play Off Final Tickets

It's not an issue. You'll just have to collect reprints from the Wembley TO. If you report them missing on Friday and they turn up on Saturday they will have cancelled your originals and done reprints anyway. Trying to use cancelled tickets could give you problems as they could assume it was fraudu...

One from the 80s, Nigel Vaughan. True, in his final game he did score a bullet header to win the game, but he looked as stunned as everyone else.

Keith Knight. Signed from Cheltenham. Looked a reasonable winger, then just vanished. Possibly kidnapped by aliens.

Re: Huddersfield fan on train from Maidenhead

You also hammered us 3-0 on opening day a number of years previous to that, and I could be wrong but think you went up as champions in the end. Ah, yes, that would be the 93/94 season. We'd flogged Steve Francis to you and played the relatively unknown Neil Hislop aka Shaka in goal that first game ...

More promotion and less relegation in steps 3-5 next season for the re-shuffling of clubs in 2018/19 to have four step 3 divisions (http://www.evostikleaguesouthern.co.uk/southern-chosen-to-run-new-division-36644) ...but can anyone understand the logic of having the extra step 3 division being run b...

Lawrenson on 5 live - just pointed out that both the teams in the Championship play off final have German managers. Oh dear... There was a Football Focus feature on us a few weeks ago, and Lawrenson and another pundit (I think Hamann?) were in the studio. After the piece, Dan Walker tried to genera...

Re: Huddersfield fan on train from Maidenhead

b) What kind of reaction might I reasonably expect from those on-board if I rock up in my Town shirt? I'd love to think that there might be a handshake or two and a bit of pre-match banter, but not sure I could hand-on-heart say that that would be the experience of a Reading fan if they were travel...

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

I really don't suspect any conspiracy behind the timing. Listening to the interview with Nigel Howe this morning, as crazy as it seems, it would appear that all of the parties really did sign off the deal during the second half last night! Why? He didn't really explain, other than the fact that it ...

Re: Please stand and applause on the 52nd minute at the game tonight- Dave Murtagh memorial

I didn't hear a tribute for him, but it was just after we scored and the crowd was buzzing for that. I think Dave would've taken that :) quite. Related note - Villa did something for their last game of 2016 where at 20:16, they did a minute of all the fans and ex-players that had passed away on the...

There's no "may" about it. It was a cynical foul to stop an attack. It should be a yellow every time.

Re: BFTG Fulham

It's cute, Fulham fans think we're a dirty side and that we'll play just like we did today on Tuesday as well. Fact is, Stam set up the team more to stop Fulham and he did that superbly, at home with the crowd behind them, no doubt we'll be a bit more expressive. Enough sour grapes to open a wine b...

Halifax win promotion from the Conference North in front 7920 at The Shay. I know they are an ex-League club, but that would have been a brilliant crowd in their league days.

3134 (current capacity?) at Ebbsfleet see the home team come from behind to join Maidenhead in national division.
