Re: End of season contracts

Is McCleary out of contract this summer or next? Liked the guy as a professional, great attitude and done some great work for us during his time but can't help but feel he's lost a few steps now,. He doesn't look like he's going to beat a man but still has a decent delivery and pass on him. I think...

Re: End of season contracts

Perhaps the question to ask is which players does the club wish to offload. Those currently out on loan Those out of contract Those not currently making the starting 11 but in the top 10 wage earners One who would earn a substantial fee Those aged 21/22 not in contention for the match day 18 Those ...

Re: Which of the loanees would you prioritise?

Listening to the CEO tonight, they will be shipping out the top earners That will be Swift, MOORE, McCleary, Gunter for starters They have to ship out the top earners, players getting "too much" for RFC's position/status So that means loanees, Academy players, and league 1-2 punts Seems o...

Re: Which of the loanees would you prioritise?

If Jose had ruled Eza outhe woukdn’t Have given him time for the U23 side or kept him beyond January.
He’d be a cheap signing and him Baker and Rino would form a really powerful midfield 3 if we wanted to play that way.

Re: BFTG - Bristol City

I thought Norwich and Bristol highlighted how far off the top 10 we remain. Our entire game plan was to shut up shop, soak pressure and hope to sneak something on the break. I expect genuine top 10 quality sides to go out and take the game to the opposition on a roughly even footing rather than hav...

Re: BFTG - Baggies

An excellent point. Just one gripe. Was it really necessary to boo HRK. Quite a few of our fans booed him when he was on our team, so unsurprising. He was applauded when their team line up was announced, he was applauded when he went off (it was one of his better games for us). I think the Reading ...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Great support today, from all stands. Club1871 led from the start but everyone did their bit.
Poor show from the Baggies, I assumed their season had ended in mid table mediocrity....

Re: BFTG - Baggies

McCleary did himself out of the pen with his dive. He was clipped, stayed on his feet then fell to the floor. You could argue the ref should still have given the pen but you can see why he didn’t.
The Barrow pen was much more obvious and blatant but clearly none of the officials saw it.

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

That's not really the context of what he was saying. He was talking about selecting the most important things you say to players rather than drowning them with too many instructions. The podcast is still available so you'll be able to listen to it and discover the context of the conversation for yo...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

Interesting re the language. Obviously not something Gomes as had an issue with.... Given how international football is, and how articulate manyof the top players are in multiple languages you’d think not too much dumbing down would be necessary, especially if it means you can’t get your ideas acros...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

Not sure why anyone would waste time arguing that the second half of the season under Gomes has not been better in every way than the first half was under Clement. No one has, so this is a bit weird. No it’s not. There is some very weird attempts to suggest Clement might have done as well as Gomes ...

Re: Gomes after 10 League Games

Not sure why anyone would waste time arguing that the second half of the season under Gomes has not been better in every way than the first half was under Clement. Under Clement we would have been relegated by now after a season of frustrating and uninspiring football. We may still get relegated und...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Yes it would have to be realistic But they could claim if he was purchased for 7m 2 years before, 3.5- 5m would be reasonable for him now This of course ignoring he was fcuking atrocious in that 2 years, but that would be subjective, and waved through Reckon they’ll loan him for another year after ...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Depends on who is paying them. If we're still covering a lot of their wages then the sooner they're properly gone the better. You would expect Aluko’s wages are being paid entirely by the Chinese, not much point him being moved there otherwise. Can’t see China having FFP rules and fully expect the ...

Re: Financial Fair Play

Sutekh

Definitely think McShane will be released.

He’s out of contract, nothing to ‘release’ him from unless we had an option on another year, which seems unlikely.
