Re: Match Thread - Huddersfield Vs Reading - Sponsored By A Right Stuffing

Slightly bemusing first post on this thread. Where was it pasted from ? Certainly not written by someone with any Royals knowledge ! Quinn to start ? Ilori and Harriet 'doubts' ? Gunter a key player ?

Re: Plan b?

I guess he'll use one of the 3 or 4 formations we've played with this season, and perm 11 of the 20-25 first teamers he thinks will fit the bill. Not sure if I'd go back 4 with Evans protecting the middle or back 5 ( proper defenders out wide, not wingers !) Would possibly go with Yann and McLeary a...

Re: Huddersfield (a)

Still don't really understand the issue. There are spare seats at the stadium, people are buying tickets to sit in those seats. While it would be great if the ground was sold out for every single game I can't see why having empty seats for the remaining home games is better than having people sat in...

Indeed.
Odd to get all shirty about people actually going to some games, just because they aren't going to some other games....

Re: Rival Watch

You would think Hudds might have fielded a weakened team against Rotherham and a stronger one against City. 7 changes might involve putting the regulars back in ! Either way I don@t think the draw does our prospects any harm and certainly there is a chance their focus may not be 100% on our match. S...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

The primary reason for Reading's cr@p pitch this season is the fact it needs replacing as it is coming to the end of its lifecycle. Thought that had been pointed out several times already. One therefore is expecting the pitch to be replaced in the summer. If there was no rugby played on the pitch t...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Because he wants to get Dickie involved in the squad, training with the first team, learning alongside Moore et al. Stam's comments don't suggest Dickie is going to be playing just yet. Oxford could play on Tuesday, Dickie won't. But I do agree that it seems a little odd to have signed Oxford and no...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

Possible reasons 1. It's not better but they used green dye for TV to hide bare patches 2. It's a different type of pitch (not a Desso) 3. They spend more on maintaining it 4. It has better drainage 5. It doesn't have a fungal infestation killing the grass 6. It has less usage (fewer Prem games, few...

fully with the sentiment on that its not on OAPS getting subsidies but not children. Especially in these times of over 65s being both generally better off than they were, but also a lot healthier at that age. I didn't realise they did get on free until this announcement. Good on the club (again) bu...

It's all just pantomime !

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

 Where's that warmer weather? Talking about the sun making the grass grow (not that there's much left to grow!), what happened to the 'growth lights' that the club used to hire? Has cost cutting seen the end of them? They own the lights, they don't hire them. I think they have 4 sets having ...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

They need to get used to the new football, league system where they now award points based on who wins, rather than having Uncle Len and his mates decide who the 'best' team is based on no apparent logical, criteria. Based on how often we score more goals than you, we're third / fourth/ so far ahead o...

Probably been told they have a visit from the licensing authority, or need to get the safety certificate renewed so they are having to abide by the rules again for a bit. Suspect it will all die down soon....

Good riddance to them to be honest. Good riddance also to their stuff in our Megastore and to their coverage on BBC Berks If we're going to share with a rugby team make it a Reading Abbey, a Redingensians, a Newbury or a Bracknell at least it'd be someone local and not a team that basically pops in...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

Of course it's a done deal, that has been very clear for a long time and Irish have said so. The argument about fans doesn't hold water, they moved here from West London and lost a lot of fans when they did, they think they can get them back although there is zero evidence of latent demand amongst t...

You would imagine he keeps close to any club involved in possible takeovers, it's how he earns his living. It would probably be odd if he didn't have a client sniffing around in case the Chinese deal goes wrong. Not sure whether that would be a good thing or not, would be interesting to see an analy...

It was the Sun that lied, and continued to lie and refused to apologise. It's not Murdoch, or any other paper or organisation that is so tainted so bringing up Sky or the Mail or the Times is irrelevant. It is the paper that has had access removed, not individual journalists. Again it is irrelevant ...

Re: The Egg chasers relegation

Irish fans consider they pay way over the odds to use the stadium. If they think they pay too much, and we think they don't pay enough maybe that says that it's just not commercially viable ! If you look at the very rough figures I reckon they pay us about £5 per spectator per game. Whether the rent...
