Re: Digital Screen at Madjeski

Teams were on the screen but using a font size so small that they were impossible to read.
They may as well not bother....

Re: Shocking and disgusting behaviour

Based on previous examples I suspect there is every chance some of those responsible have commented on the thread. Was certainly the case after al Habsi/ Arsenal. I can accept to some extent the 'lads just being lads' argument for some behaviour. Marching in a gang through a strange town making a ra...

I also am getting to really like Bacuna. Does what Williams did except better, quicker and more positively.

Re: BFTG Swansea

It is odd how people can see games so differently. For me Jakkola never looked uncomfortable, there were a couple of occasions when he had no options for an easy pass out but he never panicked, didn't do anything daft and looks far more solid with his feet than Al Habsi did. Swift did some excellent...

Re: We should have a 2nd Screen

We should aircraft style personal screensinstalled in the back of all the seats... Don't worry about not being able to see the screen Bobby, there's nothing to see. They don't even have team lineups these days... Yes they do, well they have done at matches this season anyway. Another screen would b...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

Failure is of course relative. They have all, failed to make the grade with us. They've all failed to make the grade in the Championship (even Cooper isn't starting many games at one of the weakest clubs in the division). They've not failed in terms of having jobs as professional footballers but 3 o...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

Bit tough to blame Dolan's replacement for quality of players, he's hardly had a chance to influence recruitment or coaching. The players coming through are the product of Dolan's work. Of course the bottom line is there ISN'T an issue. Expecting to produce one first team player a year is probably q...

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

WSC is hardly a fanzine any more and just about the only football magazine about that asks serious questions about the state of the game. The Coventry Talbot kit was designed to circumvent the ban on shirt advertising in the early 80's, to the point that Jimmy Hill considered changing the club's na...

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

The Coventry kit would be fairly common knowledge to any football fan over 45. The Carlisle kit was mentioned in an article in this month's WSC. Point 1 is clearly incorrect. Is WSC still going ? Must be 25 years or more, the halcyon days of the fanzine were great. Spent many a happy afternoon in S...

Sincere apologies Maff, confused you with Muskrat. It's the M that did it !

Having confused you it completely coloured my reading of your post with I took to be written in a scathing, sarcastic tone. Sorry.... rereading it I agree with much of your thinking

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

The issue is, he's got absolutely no basis for his ramblings against SJM and NH, and his insistence that we have rejected lucrative naming rights bids because of SJM's ego is so far wide of the mark. These two men didn't just take us to the next level, they took us up about three levels, and in SJM...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

Not sure of your point Maff You seem to think the ex manager of Jong Ajax doesn't believe in young players. Despite there being no evidence to support this. Are the current 18-19 year olds further from the first team than the 20-21 year olds who weren't up to it ? Strangely most of them are right no...

Re: The idiots of Twitter thread

The Richmond tenancy (we've never had a ground share with anyone !) was very short lived and I can't believe any one cared too much about hurting their feelings ! It's quite odd to see people arguing in favour of flogging off the name of the ground. I've never thought there was much dignity in maki...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

we're going to have to disagree Hound. The players have all, bar Kelly, fallen short. They were given the opportunity to be Championship players and they didn't achieve it. None of them who went out on loan showed anything close to the levels of performance expected. It's disappointing and hopefully...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

Muskrat you talk absolute rubbish. The players who left did so because sadly none of them had taken the opportunities given to them to show they were good enough. On what basis were Fosu, Kuhl, Tanner etc forcing their way into the first team squad ? Stam said a year ago that players were going on l...

Re: Under 23"s Supposedly not ready for first team football.

Neither Smith nor Rimonhota are ready, although I think Rimonhota is closer than Smith. I'd not have too much of a concern if Andresson had to play, and he certainly looks to have a very decent future. Don't think there is a ready made answer to the 'when are they ready' question. Sometimes injuries...
