Re: Postponement tomorrow?

The trains are running so the team can get here.
The fans can stay at home and watch on TV.
They woukdn’t call off a televised game because a few away fans coyidn’t travel would they ? Especially if the pitch and local area was absolutely fine ....

Re: Postponement tomorrow?

They will have gritters on the roads round the stadium and all the surrounds. If somehow there was ice on the steps inside the ground that might be tricky but they’ve dealt with this sort of problem before.

Re: The Legend of Robin Friday

I was at every game Friday played, I was in the showers when he violated Lawro’s kit bag, I spent a week with him In Weston Super Mare trying to persuade him not to join Cardiff, from my time as a police officer I still have the lipstick from THAT kiss and was happy to lead the applause for that ama...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Aaron was injured whilst on trial at Aldershot (TCL) . Won't be back until well into New Year. He's not really played for 2 + years now. Unfortunately can't see him playing pro football again. Pity because in the Academy was a standout player in his year group Unfortunately being a standout player ...

Re: Who will make it and who won't?h

With Omar Richards recently signing a new deal after his impressive performance and the U23s on the upturn after a change of manager, who will make the step from the academy to be a valuable asset in the first team? Players like Richards, Barrett, Rinomhota and Watson are almost certain to make it,...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Doubt any of those first Teamers will be started Monday then Bit of a disappointing performance in many ways, although Bayern were very good and losing to what should be the cream of young German talent. In the first half especially Bayern played at pace and pressed us very hard and we simply could...

Re: Why doesn't the MadStad host concerts and music events?

There have been several music events, but from what I understand they are hardly worth doing. Promoters want revenue guarantees so the venue effectively carries the risk of poor ticket sales, the promoter doesn’t hire the venue, they just license their artist to the venue for a concert. The window f...

Pointless to even ask.

Re: Record Watch 2017/18

Well the 13 wins from the start of a league season is safe for another year after only 6 games. Only just thanks to Everton in City's second game of the season! No ‘only just’ about it ! It’s an absolute and they didn’t win half as many a season we did ! Remember we ‘only just’ didn’t win 14 on the...

Re: Record Watch 2017/18

Wasn’t overly impressed by Wolves when we played them, but they seem to be able to not play that well and still pick up points, a useful skill ! They look to have some significant weaknesses - the defence looks vulnerable with the big donkey (Boly) very weak and the keeper less than commanding. We d...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

I'd be surprised if the Women's team cost more than £1m a year to run. Fara Williams may, as a top earner, be on something like £30,000-40,000 a year, Kelly Chambers maybe something similar but there's only about 20 players in the squad and I doubt there's many earning more than £20,000 a year. Wou...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wolverhampton Wanderers (h) sponsored by the search for a Saturday home win

Ambiguity issue !

I interpreted the OP as two players each worth more than our squad, not added together. I suspect we’ve played quite a few teams in recent years who’s two most expensive players cost more than our whole squad as the cost of our squad has rocketed in the last 12 months.

Re: Reading FC Womens World

Are the Chinese subsidising the ladies? They are all professional now.with playing at Adams park plus overnight stays for away games etc it’s quite an expensive venture without getting that much in return. Well the obvious answer is that the RFC owners by definition underwrite the costs of the Club...

Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

Could be all sorts of reasons why the loan has ended. Has he picked up an injury which means he won’t play for 6 weeks ? Did MK want to extend the loan for the season but get told that was not going to be possible so bailed out ? We’ve had some young players who definitely had attitudes or seemed to...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wolverhampton Wanderers (h) sponsored by the search for a Saturday home win

Going to need at least 7/10s all over the pitch to get anything here, will take a draw any day of the week, they have 2 players worth more than our entire squad and with 4000 screaming away fans it could turn into a uncomfortable afternoon. Don’t think our squad cost less than £13 million. We spent...

Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

Question on this - as MK terminated his season long loan, could he play for Villa now or will he have to wait until the Jan window at least? Not that he'll play anyway but interested if anyone knows the rules around that. Technically a loan can only be ended during a transfer window, But there is a...

2 hours to get from Reading to Wycombe   Seems reasonable. Assuming you don’t want to arrive bang on ko, it could easily take well over an hour during a Friday rush hour. When you have to negotiate Reading traffic, then the Marlow bypass, then Wycombe it’s a horrid journey. Check out ho...
